View Full Version : skills that work and skills that don't (taking a guess)

From what I can see, the last boss now isn't affected by a lot of skills.
I have personally tested it out in solo mode, each and every one of the skills (when there isn't any health stone).
I've grouped the skills into the ones that damages and ones that doesn't damage the boss (for me).

effective:
shadow dance, leap, hellblades, Unholy force, Unholy blessing (although it is used on you)

Not effective:
fatal burst, curse, dark binding, vermin swarm, fire aura

By examining the different skills I came this prediction. All "physical attacks" work and all "magical attacks" fail to work.

All effective skills are forms of "physical attacks" meaning that you attack the boss directly (including normal attack of course). Hellblade are also a form of melee attack even though its a medium distanced and not close ranged attack. Prove: description- you throw your blades forward in a cone attack.

All non-effective skills are forms of "magical attacks". Obviously you cast a spell on the boss with these three attacks: fatal burst, curse, and dark binding. Fire aura is conquering up fire around your body which is also a form of magical attack. Although the rats bit your opponents, you have to "summon it" which makes it magical too.

Unholy blessing= magical skill but you cast it on yourself so it doesn't matter.
Sorry dunno why edit button not working.

Pretty sure youve seen this on a similiar thread

I can confirm what you are eluding to, Obsidian and Hargkyth do not take damage from Fire Aura. The feeling you have from damage output regarding Dark Binding has to do with his Healing Obsidian Stone. Since Dark Binding and Vermin swarm do damage over time, the effects of the healing are keeping it more or less level while the Obsidian is up.

I could go into more but it's way more entertaining to see the strategies you guys come up with to deal with his buffs!

In regards to his "damage spike" inside the fire bubble, there does appear to be a minor visual glitch in where he does not properly do the animation. If you get hit heavy and knocked around you were hit by an appropriate ability, but the animation did not fire correctly.

uh, pls stop sounding poshly edgy,
Plus in reply to carapace, I think one of Harg'kyth's attacks is meant to be a magical knock-back instead of an animation firing incorrectly... so sorry... Carapace.... :|

(btw, @OP, fatal burst uncharged DOES damage the boss at close range, curse does damage the boss, i tried at full of his hp, then a sliver of hp was lost, and so i think his att and def also went down, and I have seen people use fire aura on the boss and it did do a lot of critical hits..... or are those crits i see is because ub and fa combo increased weapon crits drastically? o_o)

O.O this boss is a mess.
Any magical skill i listed doesn't work for me, not even a teeny tiny bit of hp goes away.

whut u serious? I use curse, boss and stones get the yellow circle/boss loses a tiny sliver of red bar for me, i think you either be lagging at too far from the boss or your device isn't sending the proper signal
uncharged burst gives him a reaction AND does similar damage
db stuns him for 0.5-1.0 seconds
lol dunno, you make it sound like your device is high o____O

I actually think Fire Aura is very useful...it let's me kill the bat things without swinging my weapon and accidentally breaking a stone.

I would have thought it doesn't break stones, but i haven't tried cos my main isn't having aura. :[
