This is OBVIOUSLY not new news lol or a story for that matter, but this is what helps me sleep at night (my dad's side of my family is notorious for telling scary stories before bed). I'm extremely intrigued by stories/myths/legends of the latter. I remember going to my cousins, when I was younger, to watch horror films. Haha, I even remember the first time I watched Leprechaun and my idiot cousin put on a mask to scare the living gory guts out of his brother, and myself. Even my mom got into it by watching Nightmare on Elm Street, Chucky, and late 80's early 90's movies with me. So it's a part of me to watch horror films. I actually watch horror films with my niece, she didn't seem to be bothered by monsters, because I was watching Rumpelstiltskin, with my sister, and she was giggling and laughing at the guy (he freaked me out XD ). It's a 90's movies I saw as a kid.

So anywho, this is something my friend mentioned on Facebook, that simply brought back memories of camp fires , tents, good scares, and late nights.

So if any of you have any good stories to tell in the dark don't mind if I ask you to share.

P.S. I know Slender Man is an alien... jkjk fake but anyways, I enjoy a good scare from time to time! Or at least the ones from my childhood. The only scary thing I'll never get over is heights! D':

Slender man is scary. ><
But I still think the Chinese's ghosts are scarier, long hair ladies with red dresses floating around, gosh..

I clicked on this thread planning to introduce Slender man to it, but it looks like you beat me to the punch. I've been obsessed for the past month and a half. It's even inspired some art

I don't scare easily anymore, but after starting the marble hornets series until I finished it to the latest entry a few days ago, I had a series of late nights awake due to slender man nightmares.

You know what?...

I just remembered my dad telling me stories from his childhood...where he and his grandpa saw a strange tall man. Standing before them. He was in his teens taking care of some acres of land our family owns. He said (in Spanish) "I remember when I was like 13. My grandfather and I used to take care of our fields of corn. We were keeping guard of others that might try and take our crops, when we both saw a very tall man dressed in black (it was late at night so I'm sure he could only see that color). We tried scaring him off, but he wouldn't move (they both had machetes, being from El Salvador, and being there at the time it was natural). He would only stare at us." I freaked out, but paid no attention to him. Then he continued with "He stood there even after we asked him who he was, and what he wanted. We then heard a noise, and looked a different direction before we knew it, he was gone." My dad has told me this, and a few other encounters with this same looking person. He claims it's a ghost or demon that they strongly believe in in El Salvador. My uncle's, from my mom's side have told me countless stories of the same. We, as a family believe in weird things, sure, but it's been something other people from the town my parents grew up in have told me (to scare me maybe) in El Salvador. I remember the first time I went to El Salvador to visit, one of the locks became undone with my family, myself included, in one of the living rooms we all stopped talking, and took a look outside. Nothing was ever there... I'm not making things up either. I guess it was one of those things people try to forget about and suppress. I am also a very logical person when it comes to anything supernatural (I don't honestly believe in it, but there's been instances). I'll ask my dad what they call the ghost person thing to get a story behind this it. He never told me it looked the way slender man is supposed to be, but the idea of a tall male figure, not moving, and starting at you is still kinda freaky no matter what lol...

Thought I'd share this too!

Haha! uhm it's not that bad until you start believing in it. Last night I was outside hanging out with a friend. It was dark (obviously if it's last night) when I saw something that looked like a man staring at us. We other a flashlight at it, to find out it was a coat that was forgotten outside. XD

btw you should check out Marble Hornets on YouTube... So addicting, and that's what Red was talking about as inspiration for his art... ;) happy hauntings!

I played the game before. 5 pages is my record haha :) I didn't know it was based on true events, (which probably means there was a normal, human kidnapper that was over time changed to slenderman.) Things like this don't scare me much, but I still like reading/watching them :D
