Noob Question

I'm sorry if this is an incredibly stupid question, but I can't find the answer by searching the boards.

How do I message somebody if they're not my friend? Does it involve the text box and the / command?

either run up to them if they're in your town and hit their character or if they're in your group hit their portrait. if you can't see em then type /their name and your message.

It's actually /tell (name) (message) or if they are online and send you a friend request, you can message them then too.
