today I loaned my shock lance to volksy so he could use it. with that, I got an idea. what if with the time the auction haus is implemented, another trade idea added is a leasing policy? it would have the one player agree to pay the other a certain sum so he could use that weapon for a certain time period, and then after that the weapon would return to it's owner in the stash, etc. it would allow for people who want to just try out a weapon, or test it, or simply don't want to pay the full price.

I kinda like it, I would like to have that but a loan policy, so you hit "Lend", pick the item and pick how long, no gold incorporated. So 10 minutes, when they log off etc. Today I lent lone my Isis scarab, and he logged with it on accident. Lol

I think it's a great idea... Maybe if they lease it and decide to buy, they can put the lease amount towards the buying price...

I was discussing this exact topic with another PL member about a week ago...Runescape has this same thing...Its where you pay like 20k to get a loan from the person who has the item you want to lease it from...and then when the selected time is finished it automatically goes to the loaners account.

But runescape has junk items to bump limit :D so more like 100k :) anyways in this game there is no limit... soo.... yeh :) it could work... possibly....maybe.... somehow...

I was not aware this had been suggested, nor that it happens in runescape.

Search it, it's a thread made by pvpmaster, but I don't remember the title.

By the way, when was pvpmaster ever online for the last week? :l.

You could easily implement this into the Auction Haus.

Lease period could be fixed, say an hour, when items are inserted into the Auction Haus they can be flagged as 'Lendable', the cost of the lease could be defined as a % of the total item cost.

Items would be listed as normal in the Auction Haus, but certain items would be 'Loan' flagged, with the cost listed next to the full price. At the end of a loan, a dialog box would appear asking if you wanted to buy the item, clicking 'Yes' would then pay for it, minus the cost of the lease (or place it on hold for 10 minutes if you couldn't afford - you should only be able to extend the lease once) and clicking 'No' would return it to the database(or players stash/inventory - however the Auction Haus works), removing the chance of the discount.
