Login Rewards

Next server publish (tomorrow morning), we are introducing login rewards. Login rewards are a series of escalating timed chests that you can open. All rewards are bound AND per account, not per character.

The lobby top bar has been updated with a Login Rewards button. The button will show a badge if you have a login reward to collect.

If you have a login reward ready to collect, you can hit the Claim button.

What kind of rewards are there? Can I see what the rewards are in-game?

Speedups, currencies, elixirs, potions, and even slots! All rewards should be hardcore-friendly.

The earlier bronze don't give out slots, but the final chest gives one of the following guaranteed items (containing one slot):

Bound Auction Slot Kit
Bound Character Slot Kit
Bound Crafting Inventory Slot Kit
Bound Crafting Slot Kit
Bound Furnishing Inventory Slot Kit
Bound Hotbar Slot Kit
Bound House Slot Kit
Bound Inventory Slot Kit
Bound Stash Slot Kit

For non-slot items, these will be given directly to the character claiming the reward. The slot kits are stashable (not tradable), so you can use them on other characters. Once the final chest has been claimed, the sequence resets.

We may add support in the future for viewing the login reward loot, but for now, we don't.


What happened to Klaas and Shazbot?

They're still in the game, but no longer accessible in the lobby. You can visit them at their existing locations and they still give the same rewards. We may collapse their rewards into the login rewards at some point.


What can I do with slot X if I'm already at the limit?

We will not give you the choice of a slot or allow you to replace slot types. You can attempt to use it on another character and if you can't because you've hit the limit account for your account, you can liquidate the item.


Can we earn Gold or Platinum with login rewards?

Sorry, both Gold and Platinum are excluded from login rewards.

Good idea , otherwise it ain’t that useful for people who already have max slots in a few categories , they can surely use them on other characters but the ability to convert them to other slots would be great and more motivating to come online and collect rewards daily .

Overall a great update , now I think no one should have complains regarding slots being removed from vendor, this is even better for newer players .

It is better than nothing but let's be realistic - a chance for one(!) random slot once in 5 days doesn't move the needle at all.

Crafting, furnishing, inventory and stash kits should grant at least 10 slots because cap is 1,000 and getting there by one random slot once in 5 days never gonna happen (a matter of many years).

House kit should have 5 slots.

Other kits fine with 1 slot.

Instead of this RNG based system it would have been much better if you just granted some special currency that would allow buying all that stuff at a vendor. My gut tells most of the time that random reward will be not what is needed the most.

That would let people focus on stuff they actually need. For those who has capped all slots there could be gold chest or something else.

There's a 100% chance to drop a slot for the Gold chest on the last day (and it's not really 5 days, more like 3 1/2).

We would get 30 slots each season meaning we would get on avg a total of 30/9= 3 or 4 inv slots on a seasonal char. It doesnt make a difference if I have 25 or 29 inv slots...

Sorry, no plans to do this. There's a lot more data that accompanies an inventory item than a furnishing in your house.

Chest times are currently 4h, 8h, 24h, 24h, 24h. You can claim the chest after the time expires and the next claim time is from the point you claimed the previous chest.

Not sure where to post this. I just signed on (12:15 pm Pacific Time) which was after the server was down again and there is no reward chest up on my menu bar. The spot for one is there but it is just blank space. Someone I know did have and open their first reward chest earlier today. Hopefully they are back up soon.

This new login reward update is not the phase 2 update correct? I know you updated some in game vendors such as Varden Valley. Was that the Phase 2 update or is this Login Rewards update the Phase 2 update?

Actually it takes a lot longer since an inv slot is only one of many (furnishing, character) that you can loot XD

Imo, a single slot is actually so bad that its not worth remembering to go to the menu and to click the buttom on 5 days.

Before vendor changes 3-4 days worth of orc tag daily quests got you 25 inventory slots for 75 tags, not to mention you could buy orc tags in auc from people to get more slots and get an extra 25 slots every 15 days for story tokens or for glinstone/cryo coins you get from quests while leveling and even then it seemed to low.

It doesn't effect me much, I have lots of slots already but every day people message me angry about the slot changes/plans to quit, if enough people do quit or new players don't even start because of this the game will slowly lose people over time and the game might die due to inactivity.

Idk what the solution would be, maybe up inventory/stash slots you start with to 200 or guaranteed 25 inventory/stash every 2 days since it's the main thing people need, the hotbar/furnish/crafting slots weren't needed, if anything they were are good way for sts to make money since everyone didn't mind buying those for plat and reselling to people for gold during events when craft slots jumped in value.

And/Or lower the plat cost for tradable inventory/stash slots to 5 plat = 50-100 slots, it will be 1 of the most bought items for plat then.

Better to reward slots on a daily basis if we only get 1 of 1 type out of many types after that many days. Heck, even if it's just inventory and stash slots as daily rewards. Even then, we'll have to wait very, very long to get a reasonable amount. Inventory and stash slots were fine in token vendors. What issue did the shop update fix?

They know this and that's why they chose to target inventory, stash and auction slots in the hope we all purchase them with real money.

I won't purchase plat, although I have purchased quite a lot in the past, probably too much when I added it all up not so long back.
I'll consider purchasing if something decent comes along but it's very expensive where I live.
Besides, I am concerned that there is no roadmap, no proper communication here on forums, so uncertainty about what is going to happen in the future deters me. What if I did buy some plat and they decided to kill the game?
This is something that some people have shown concerns about in-game.
I know why this has been implemented as do you and 99% of the players do.
It was done without warning and that I find disrespectful to all the loyal customers of STS.
Really shameful way to treat the players both old and new.
That's my opinion of which I am entitled to.

It was a pleasure to see such transparency from a company and showed they did care about their

I do believe that a lot of negative posts and toxicity from some players aimed towards the Devs was totally uncalled for and shameful and wouldn't be surprised if that lead to some of the problems with communication.
Now I do feel that it's us and them instead of just us as one community. Or maybe they are just tired.
I mean, expecting an event every week is just too much and I did say this when it first started.
The game appealed to almost everyone. The house decorators, the merchers, the farmers, pity about PvP players but some say that's picking up again, on top of that, there was too many events.
One event after another so that locks became worthless and dropped too much, too much gold in certain maps, the last one being rahab, people who hoarded got miserable when vanities were re-released, we were spoiled.
I'm still against the inventory, stash and auction slots being taken away from vendors and still hoping that we have communication back but I can't be optimistic at a whim.

Thanks for replying. Yes the changes are arguably too slow and I have given the benefit of doubt to the extent I said we had been spoilt by having too many events, one after the other and I can't stop them from working by posting my opinion.
I don't need slots, I play when I feel up to it these days, and I am usually found helping others or maybe running one or two of the catacomb maps.
I do mourn the loss of better communication here on forums but I can't see that as stopping anyone from working. It probably takes two or three minutes to send a post. Giving a moment of your time is a good gift.

Thanks for replying. Yes the changes are arguably too slow and I have given the benefit of doubt to the extent I said we had been spoilt by having too many events, one after the other and I can't stop them from working by posting my opinion.
I don't need slots, I play when I feel up to it these days, and I am usually found helping others or maybe running one or two of the catacomb maps.
I do mourn the loss of better communication here on forums but I can't see that as stopping anyone from working. It probably takes two or three minutes to send a post. Giving a moment of your time is a good gift.im not justifying, but considering how long we have had it the easy way (lvling and slots), this is nothing
from communication they pretty much told us to deal with it for now

They know this and that's why they chose to target inventory, stash and auction slots in the hope we all purchase them with real money.
Some already do to sell in auction, something I won't do because it's against my principles.
I won't purchase plat, although I have purchased quite a lot in the past, probably too much when I added it all up not so long back.
I'll consider purchasing if something decent comes along but it's very expensive where I live.
Besides, I am concerned that there is no roadmap, no proper communication here on forums, so uncertainty about what is going to happen in the future deters me. What if I did buy some plat and they decided to kill the game?
This is something that some people have shown concerns about in-game.
I know why this has been implemented as do you and 99% of the players do.
It was done without warning and that I find disrespectful to all the loyal customers of STS.
Really shameful way to treat the players both old and new.

Good job, I think that its a wonderful feature that every online game should have, it makes players feel wanted and appreciated.

This also lays the ground for a possible year/decades achievements with their respective rewards.

The items dropping are not worth it. 3 times the big reward was 1 slot inventory for furnishings. Other chests have given me 1 stamp, 1 story token, 1 hauntlet coin, 1 min speedup ...not worth anything. If you want us to participate make the drops something worthwhile please.

We did remove slots that were pilfered during the login rewards exploit period. If you looted 25 slots by virtue of that login rewards system exploit, their removal was completely and totally fair - and it would not be a good use of time to complain to Customer Service about their absence.

Of course: if you purchased 25 slots (or acquired them through means that were not affected by the aforementioned exploit) and they are now missing, we need to deal with that - and Customer Service will be glad to help you :-)
