It would be much more awesome if these were available to be bought for a period of time(this lvl cap) for ppl who want to work on purchasing, still its a great award for ppl who saved/farmed. It would also "remove [more] gold from the economy" if thats the motivation ;)

This won't remove anything. As I said before, they could sell the gems or w.e for twice the amount they payed if they wanted to.

But the dev who sold the gem will keep the money so the money people spent on the gems is gone from the economy.

exaxtly, player paid 50 mil for those gems to the devs, so50 mil is clear from the game.
