Used to change the appearance of equipment by destroying any other piece of equipment or vanity from the same category.

I created an example prototype illustration, added below.

But why?

You don't like the look of your vanity and current equipment (e.g zaarus) but you like the vanity set bonus effects/aura. In other words, for example you have the Explosive Temper set bonus from volcanium set, you hide this vanity because you don't like how it looks, revealing your normal equipment which you don't like either, so you transmogrified it into something you do like, but you keep the Explosive Temper set bonus from volcanium vanity set.
You like the look of equipment but it's stats are bad.
Players will farm everywhere to find cool looking gear.
AL economy will improve.
New players could something worth a moderate amount of gold, which would otherwise be worth nothing.
Guild vanity competition frequency should increase.
Monetizable, an item required to transmog something could be easily sold from the store.

Notes:

Another craftable called reverse transmogrify could be added too, so you can get your item back but at a much higher gold cost.
Vanities can't be transmogrified.
Vanities will override (t) equipment unless hidden, like usual.
(t) items can't be traded.
Transmog exists in WoW but I'm unsure how it works there.
Visual Vanity set bonuses, auras, and effects should or should not transfer with transmogrification? May cause server instability, lag, and complicate coding even more than it already would be if yes.
Visual Equipment set bonuses, auras, and effects should or should not transfer with transmogrification? May cause server instability, lag, and complicate coding if yes.

Thanks!

Application of any vanity or equipment model to any equipment.

Skins for equipment pretty much, which.. one may argue is just a vanity.. lol.. but the difference would be that we can wear vanities as well as the "equipment skin".
