When the cold winds blow, dragons stir. Syrillax is back for another year, but her brood continues to grow, and with it, the threat to Frozen Hope. The residents of Frozen Hope have opened their gates to all Arlorian heroes willing to take up arms against the dragons.

The Winter Event runs for 3 weeks from 12/14 to 1/4, with a 3 day cooldown.

This is an Energy Event. Energy Essence drops everywhere in the realm but the chances to loot are higher when fighting monsters at (or above) your level, and lower when fighting monsters below your level.

What's New?

- Some event vanities are now included in the Farmer's Elixir loot, keep an eye out for those below.

- Earn Event Points by opening Locked Crates (a random amount between 20 and 50 Points)! Ice Dragon Tears elixir increases min/max by +20% (meaning a range of 24 to 60 Points).

Notable differences week-by-week include:
+A new/different Level 86 Mythic Star Beast accessory contained in event crates. Open crates during all 3 weeks to collect all 3.

+Different pets available in each weekly locked crate.

+Brood dragons drop different wisps and halos per week.

+Farmers Elixir adds a different vanity drop each week.

+Different Leaderboard vanities to collect.

+Different Tier Rewards.

Star Beast Set Details:
Collecting the 3 Star Beast accessories throughout the Winter Event will contribute to the 3 and 6 piece Star Beast set bonuses, which are available with the existing Star Beast pieces.

3 items equipped: Invokes the celestial power of the Star Beast to give you +35% Primary Stat, +30% Health, +30% Damage (stacking), and +15% Haste

In the Elder Woods you gain an additional +15% resistance to Nature, Shadow, and Cosmic Damage, +20% Speed (stacking) and 15% Critical Hit Damage


6 items equipped: Overdrives the celestial power of the Star Beast to give you +40% Primary Stat, +35% Health, +30% Damage (stacking), and +20% Haste

In the Elder Woods you gain an additional +20% resistance to Nature, Shadow, and Cosmic Damage, +25% Speed (stacking) and 20% Critical Hit Damage. Chance to remove Rot Slime, Fatal Fungi, and Star Blight Toxins when an enemy is defeated.


Snowstorm Set Details:
There are 8 pieces to the Snowstorm set, available throughout the Winter Event content. Having all 8 pieces will grant the following bonuses...

Arlorian Snowstorm: 8 items equipped: The Arlorian Snowstorm gives you +30% Primary Stat, +30% Speed (Stacking), +25% Health, +25% Mana, +20% Armor, +20% Damage (stacking), +15% Haste, +15% Critical Hit Damage


An 8/8 set will also unlock the "Fatal Frostbite" proc on Snowstorm weapons when full 8/8 set is active! Charged attacks will afflict an enemy with Frostbite (if proc is not on cooldown). Afflicted enemies take significant bonus damage from subsequent attacks. Increased bonus damage from charge attacks!



Bane Item: Orb of Ursume

The Orb of Ursume is a special item purchasable only for Platinum that will help you along your way through mobs of frozen enemies and increasingly challenging bosses. Having the Orb in your inventory will reduce the critical rate of bosses by 6% and deal up to 50% more damage to monsters and bosses in the Mount Spyr Pass zone!

If you purchased an Orb in past years--you're set! Same orb, same perks.

Note: this is the last year for Orbs of Ursume! Expect an overhaul to (or replacement of) this 'bane' item for next year's Winter event.

Bane Item Upgrade

The Orb of Ursume can be upgraded with a recipe that drops from Syrillax. The upgraded version of the orb works in the Brooding Grounds in addition to the original zone.

Elixir: Ice Dragon Tears

Once you reach the Silver event tier, visit King Frost for a special quest. This quest will lead you to unlock the new Ice Dragon Tears elixir at the vendor which will give you a 15% score boost in all event zones and additional points when opening Locked event crates!

Elixir: Warming Waters

Visit King Frost in Frozen Hope for the Rescue the Brewmaster quest, where you'll have to save Esai the Brewmaster from the Frozen Village! Once you do this quest you'll gain access to the "Warming Waters" Elixir from Rodrick the token vendor. This elixir reduces the freezing effects from Mount Spyr monsters.

Winter Gift Tree

Don't forget to visit the Winter Gift Tree in Frozen Hope every day during the event to collect free gifts!

Each daily gift pack will grant you:
+ 50 Pet Experience Kit (bound - open it to give 50 XP to your Summoned pet; doesn't open if the summoned pet is already at your level).
+ 500 Spirit XP (also bound - open to apply 500 Spirit XP to your equipped Spirit weapons).
+ 30 Minute Crafting Timer Speed-up.

But you don't want to miss Christmas Day, where you'll get a special collection of great gifts!

+ 100 Winter Event Tokens
+ 1 Pet Level-up Ticket (can be used on any pet to set them to your character level).

Mount Spyr

Kick off the Winter Event by entering the Mount Spyr Pass portal. Fight bosses and baddies, earn tokens, and loot items and chests.

Most importantly, snag the Weak Flamestones and open chests that drop in the zone to earn Icy Dragon Scales. These will be instrumental in defeating Syrillax's brood later on.

Event Zone: The Brooding Grounds

Throughout the Winter Event, Syrillax's brood egg begins to stir and all Arlorian heroes must gather to defeat it before it gets out of control!

The egg resides in the Brooding Grounds, which opens for 1 hour every 3 hours for a chance to crack the egg and make sure what's inside doesn't leave those grounds. While you wait, craft Dragon Flamestones as your ticket to the fight. When you enter the zone, one Dragon Flamestone will be removed from your inventory, the egg will hatch and the fight will commence!

Vaults are a new addition to the store with some limited availability jewels, including the Winter Event's new Hailstone Gem. Vaults are only available for a very limited amount of time, so keep an eye out!

The Vaults page shows any active Vaults in a list on the left hand side of the screen. Tap the 'View' button to see the contents of a specific Vault.

Each item you receive is removed from the Vault and cannot be looted again until the Vault resets. A Vault resets when all of its contents have been looted."

Please rework mage t5 I think it should be like the other 2 and not a skin of the animal draped over its forehead, it looks poorly made in my opinion and I’ve heard other people thinking the same. Another idea I have is instead of them all being the same animal, make a different animal for each class (warr bear, rogue wolf, mage fox) to make them better fit each class. This may be a bit too late for you guys to make a full new remodel but it is an idea I can get behind (credits to pressp) I also think the snowfall aura could use a larger range, it looks like it would be easily overshadowed by any set bonus auras or effects by the feet making it difficult to see. Overall I am looking forward to the event but I wanted to point out a few of these issues I see with it.

I would change 15% movement speed in mythic bracelet to 15% primary stat and 15% movement speed in ring to 10-15% crit chance (mages and wars needs crit chance).
Also, adding 30% elite and boss damage to 6/6 bonus might be good and we would start considering changing our gears to whole set.

For everyone who cries about star beast 6/6 not much better than 3/3, a reminder that a weapon for 7/7 set bonus is coming + star beast items have 125 base stat instead of other items 80-85 + you can equip 22.5 stat jewels on these instead of 15 which is enough of a buff.

Im not exactly sure but i doubt it will be noticeable difference for lb, since this is fast map and points are being accumulated rather quickly, maybe the point of this is to give an advantage in tier reaching for ppl who open lockeds.

I'm pretty sure that 15% primary from bracelet already compensates lack of high stats from star bracelet and ring (cause belt might be usable).
And yeah, 6x corrupt jewels (so basically 45 more flat stat) are definitely better than things like higher crit chance for mages and wars, 20% bd/ed from rings etc (also arcane gears have 4 awak slots, so you have higher chance for getting op awak) and rng with bracelet proc.
Now I don't believe in op 7/7 set bonus (if there'll be any).
Removing debuff in elder woods for now is useless.

Plus the platinum rewards would be cheap after 2-3 days, and those who don t run event, would pay for them as much as 5m all of them. So better you should buy 2-3 double boss elixirs,with platinums, and sell in auction for 4-6m and buy the platinum rewards, then spending few hundreds of platinum, maybe thousands to get the tier.

Definitely half of us, will quit the game. The thing that make us keep playing it was the lb rewards, and the maps we farm. But now if all resume to locked crates, and stats that can t be reached by farming, than there is no reason playing it, no more satisfaction at all. I don t thing anyone would spend few hours to farm, to open two locks or to run against 13 year old players a lb who already has the entire crate keys from game.

I have told him that in the preview thread. He doesn’t accept the fact that this won’t make any impact to the lb.

This lb was almost pursued and won by people who spend ~16hours (on a daily basis) of running portals . Crates are not going to make a difference especially in week1.

Won’t be so many crates crafted and ready to be opened to give anyone a boost that cannot be outreached.

If developers have given this option to us is because they need resources for you to play this game. If they dont make money out of it then they should shut it down and you can go back to Candy Crush.

Did you ever opened a store crate? U know how many you can open? Max 5-6. There is a cool down. During the cool down many others will open before you. If store has 100 crates. How many do you think you will open? Even if they give you 100 pts per crate. It’s not enough. I doubt they will even given 20 pts per crate.

Ok, you run event on hardcore just to get the loot from boss, and i don t think an hardcore could be on lb, since they ain t that rich, like a normal char. And the tiers rewards, in a week every single hardcore can get them.

Of course it helps hc characters, many people collect vanities, want titles for aps and so on.
Event might be a struggle for some hcs, why not give them few points for those locks they opened?

Lets say 300k points will be for t5, based on past locks that gave points it will be like 1point=1pull, 1 pull is usually 5plat. Name me one person who would buy&spend 1.5m plat for this please :).

If we get 1 point don t have any impact on lb. So this is all we need to know. Plus as i said, many buyed speedup kits and crate keys, so the new locks won t be a problem to open them.

Well, I hope a Dev can post how many points per locked will be handed out for more clarification but I really don't think our developers will make it unfair to our Top LB Runners in this community. I know the lockeds giving out points may sound a bit shocking for LB Runners but I really doubt the event will revolved and controlled by opening winter lockeds. I could be wrong since I myself don't know how many points will actually be handed out per locked pop for this winter event but I'm sure it won't control the Top 5 LB Players or Top 10 LB Players

If it is unfair then I'll personally support you in a new thread that will show how broken it is, once we know that it's broken but for now just keep some faith. I really don't think they will make it unfair for our F2P Top Event LB Runners. We open locks on HC so we have items. It’s dangerous to run events and most of us are slow. We open to get vanity and set items and is really the only way to get decent items on HC.

We won’t be opening locks on HC for some advantage on LB. Lol.

I don't think points from opening crates will be a problem just as long as it's not enough to compete for top lb spots, some players don't have enough time to play and may want the tier rewards, this helps them in reaching those tiers.

You can craft the weekly Massive Locked Ice Dragon Crates using either 3 Locked Elder Woods Crate or 1 Massive Locked Elder Woods Crates.


3/3 = 35% and 6/6 is 40% I don't see a reason to wear 6/6 for 5% more.
