Gangnam is a state in Korea.

As said above, Gangnam is a state in South Korea. Gangnam Style refers to dancing in a carefree way which depicts the carefree life style lived in the city/state. The life style is compareable to the stereotypical life style of someone living in a place such as Hollywood or Beverly Hills.
