If you are starting from level 1, day 15 we gonna have 2xp, I suggest u to wait to level up by there since it's way easier, ask for help since some maps are hard to be done alone. It wont be easier to get at the mid and good part of the game, but with Patience and time, u can get there, if u gonna like or not, it's a something that only u know. Events might be the mostly easier way to make gold at start, then later get gold loot and farm..

Yes and no.. f2p got a little better last time I played years ago wasnt impressed with some events but plat buyers always have more of an advantage I feel like but I don't know what future events are gonna be like past events I heard mixed things about when I wasn't active. Although I only play for nostalgia factor..

Also would like to know if any of you are actually f2p.

What they mean is the event now no need energy to farm event zone.
So, f2p no need have to farm energy using op ss to get party to farm kt4 for energy.
I think thats what they meant in here.

The past few events doesn't require energy to enter it is free to enter so it is F2P

I think thats what they meant in here.Energy has always been farmable , and if you mean that it's f2p because people can't buy energy and get a lb spot that's also wrong.
They are selling elixirs for plat only ,like goblin farmer elixir that increase points you get from bosses
Not to mention how they butchered slots , you barely get 1 inventory slot per week, And if anyone has ever seen the fabled hotbar or crafting slot drop from daily login rewards please let me know.

Tier rewards are much less worth your time grinding for it compared to last year's rewards.
Do I even have to talk about the slots?
New sets are as usual, behind paywall.
You tell me, are the recent changes in events and the contents they provide are in favor on us f2p? I don't think so. Are you even f2p?

Honestly speaking, this game is difficult for the new players. The inventory slots are no longer available in token stores. You can either buy them through platinum or in auction for 7m ish gold. Not to mention the hotbar and crafting slots for convenience. Although they added "Login rewards", it's still not enough imo. Your inventory slots will always be full and you gotta liquidate items every single time you finish a map.
It is also true that some events don't require energy but it will still take time for you to save for a decent gear especially if you're a solo player. Perhaps, try finding a guild or friends who can carry in maps.
And if you've decided to come back to the game hmu. I'll help you with quests to reach max level at least. I will treat you exp elixirs as well. My ign is Fumes.

To be fair, the slots thing already implement long ago, which so many players already taken into discussion of the negative perspective of this major change.
And this new non energy event is something new (recently implement) that is benefits to those f2p, u don't need good gears to run these event as there will be pros will carry u in the event zone.
So, why is it not good for f2p when u no need have to buy good sets to farm energy in KT4.
I do agree with the rewards are bad, but it is still worth something.
Yup imma a free to play, grinding and merching through those years.

Pretty sure you already bought slots yourself because you had the chance to buy it from token stores back when they were still available.
Let's say you really are f2p, but you're NOT even a starting player.
And you're right, events are not even that hard anymore. But ask yourself, is farming event good enough to make a decent amount of gold? I think you know the answer.
Nowadays, people farm gold loot maps that require op gears and gold loot sets. It is hard to find a party if you don't have gears.
Now, try making a new account, go back to zero for a week and let me know how it goes.
I'm just trying to speak for the new or returning players. I hope you get my point.

I do get your point, I cannot deny that it is hard to start as a new player due to the ecosystem.
But it is a good start to play event to earn money as a f2p with latest energy free event.
You cannot expect to be rich enough to be able to buy all the end game gears in just a short amount of period as a f2p. It need efforts and time to farm and grind.

If you're a veteran player then you've had years to build up a good amount of gold. The events had more to offer via vendors. You played for tokens, bought vanities and later events included furnishings and house deeds, plus you got the story tokens for slots including character slots which helped with storage.
New players don't stand a chance now unless they pay. Let's face it, they'd need to play for years to catch up and events don't give anything worth running for except maybe some bound awakenings, a title and a legendary pet. The game most likely will have ceased to exist by then.
Even veteran players are losing interest because there's nothing to farm so farmers are turning to merching and soon they'll be nothing to merch.
Some are trying for leaderboards but quite a lot are creating twinks.
I bet some veterans, like me, are giving stuff to new players out of pity even though we know we're taking a chance on whether they really are new players.

No
Beside of being a bad mmorpg it’s a good gatcha game so I would suggest you to buy plats if you wanna play this game from scratch.
It is too late to be F2P except if you have 3 years to play the game as an hardcore gamer. (Not worth it)
You’ll get disgusted seeing people one****ing everything when you can’t even half they healthbar after 4 rotation of spells then you will understand that you need « procs » to deal damage but only mythic and arcane gear have procs but your 100k gold has as much value as candies.
You are poor because you must farm to get rich but you need a lot of gold to get equipment to be able to farm decently.
For me it’s a no go. However that is my opinion maybe do you think that nostalgia is enough to play the game.

I decided to start from zero three days ago, currently lvl 46, still not feeling the effects of not being able to upgrade inventory slots, after lvl 30 you start receiving 5 inventory slots when opening the equipment chest, my biggest problem is that there are no new players, so i basically had to solo everything up to Rengol since going in with someone with a higher lvl will make you day in a few hits (Currently stuck in the third map, boss is just too much), and as a warrior with just the crappy equipment the game gives away some bosses were really annoying (Kraken mines LvL I, as a warrior you won't be able to kill the boss with LvL 20 gear, it heals up too fast, had to leave it alone until lvl 30, same with the last Shuyal boss, you will need the lvl 40 gears to take it down, and every boss will take a lot of time to kill, and a **** ton of potions).
If you will come back send friend request to any new player you see while in maps, progressing as a team will probably be much easier, also do the side missions, some missions now have a lvl requirement, if you don't do the side missions you will fall short at times (Happened to me with the last two Karin letters in Ydra and then again with some missions in Kraken/Tindirin).

Updating:
XP you get from dailies decreases as your lvl goes up (There is no point in doing the 200 spiders/wolfs of Nordr after lvl 50 since they give 60 or less XP), only Shuyal and above dailies are worth something after lvl 50, and Shuyal is already decreasing at that point (540 instead of 600), Glinstone, outside of the bosses, which are egregious damage sponges, is much easier than Ren'Gol (At least for a warrior, saw a poor mage get crushed by a few bugs), starting to feel the lack of inventory since Ren'Gol/Glinstone introduced a bunch of new stuff, it isn't too bad, but every few maps i have to clean inventory, really noticeably while doing dailies.
I will stay in Glinstone until lvl 70 or something like that, the next maps (Which you unlock around lvl 55, and are utterly unfit to take on) mobs are damage sponges and hit pretty darn hard, the side quest for those maps don't give much in the way of XP either (200~300).

Last update:
Story missions and side missions XP also decrease as you lvl up (Didn't notice before), so you should be completing them in order if you want to get the most out of them.
The reason why there are no players in Ren'Gol/Glinstone is because they are all at Festerfang, when i got there i quickly found a team around my lvl to play with, had a lot of fun just running around.
After posting here some players reached out to help, one hard carried me all the way from lvl 68 to lvl 81 (Took roughly one and a half hours), also gave me some gears, haven't decided how i feel about the fast play/fast action gameplay, end lvl gear makes everything move so fast that i end up missing most of what happens or end up disoriented (Bad eyesight), 50~60% movement increase is currently the sweet spot for me, not so fast that i get lost and not so slow that moving feels like a chore.
The game free equipment caps at lvl 75, and so does your inventory at 80, it is noticeably, specially in the crafting materials department, i'm selling all jewels that are not mind/fury/finesse, and even then i end up with too many things after doing dailies, every map from Ren'Gol and upwards has at least 3 different crafting materials, they do stack up quickly.
Conclusion: Game is still fun, even as a f2p player (You should definitely do the companions side missions in Ydra and Backenridge, that way you will get 30 story tokens and will be able to buy the trading permit 3 days sooner), all it took me to get to lvl 81 was 600k, 300k i used to buy Nala and the rest to buy XP elixirs, you get around 500k+ just from advancing in the game up to lvl 60+ and since there is no trading/auction you won't be spending it even if you wanted to.

Just got back into AL after a long time. Massive learning curve and STS seems to monetize everything they can… but still fun. Have you kept playing?
