Not quite sure if this is a bug or a feature.
When you level up you get the little notification box next to your health/mana/xp box that says "Level Up!". It seems that this box disappears at times.
EDIT: Ok, so it seems like a feature. It disappears when you press the attack button. It reappears after around 10 seconds.
