Do you guys find that AL actually uses its class roles during gameplay? Do we actually need tanks? Are mages a support class? Do we just need enough rogues to clear everything?

I think I only really noticed this during elder zone boss fights. Aren’t rogues and mages capable of doing enough damage nowadays to make having a tank unnecessary? Not making claims, I’m just curious and don’t know better.

Its all about procs
There are no class rolls in this game
Contrast that with pl when I played:
Tanks would pull mobs, hold aggro, you needed to know where they would pull in a map
Mages would buff the pt while cursing mobs, & they would res the dead (no ankhs)
Birds were glass cannons that needed bears, & mages to survive while doing max damage
On top of that pvp was actual Rock Paper Scissors, one class had an advantage over one other
but not both
Skills there created combos & mega combos
One class used one skill on mobs followed by another class timing their skill created a huge effect
There were several types of combos, you needed to understand how many there were & how to do them as a group
If you were good & knowledgeable you could create mega combos, but you needed team work
This game has no class rolls anymore, procs rule all zzzzzz

Wow thanks for sharing. Is pocket legends still like that?

Yes & no
Combos still exist, but they introduced 2 more classes so now there’s the og:
Dex dps bird- int support mage- str tank bear
Until they introduced
Int/str rhino and a fox you could make any combo of dex/int/str
Honestly there you can make any class with any stat but some work better than others
Also they added procs there so it’s way different than when I played only PL

Pocket Legends isn't like that anymore.
We have many over powered sets and pets for Platinum. Any good average player who just doesn't spam skills can solo end game with the right proc weapons to kill the difficult bosses.
The game is too advanced in the levels and and they level up so quickly during the right events still don't learn how to use their class effectively.
But it is what it is, as players it's easy to critique the makers of our game. But place yourself in their shoes , what is the solution to a game this advanced? With levels so high now , no one plays low levels because everyone is at end game. With campaign levels going higher then need to scale the difficulty as well.
Balancing the game is no easy fix or quick fix with simple solutions. One change can drastically affect other ascpects, levels and pvp.
I do not envy the tasks of our creators. Try to think how difficult it is to please everyone as well as being capable of generating Platinum spending in order to keep maintaining a sound business model.
