Gear & Gold For Newer Players?

Chicken or egg, which came first? That question sums up how I feel about gearing in AL.

Here’s some boooooring math to explain what I mean. If a good gear set can cost 100m-300m gold, how does a newer player ever get there without a ton of events to hopefully make gold from?

For me, a Sunken run takes about 20 minutes to earn about 10k gold. It would take me 3,000 runs or 1,000 hours of game play to earn the gold to buy the end game set up. I know this isn’t everyone’s truth with all the speed sets and kraken gear I see people using… but it is the theoretical truth of arguably most newer players.

At this point I’ve had such a miserable experience getting stepped on while leveling, that I just wanna save up cash to have fund an alt and level it up with decent gear. Ideally haste speed gear and a solid pet.

So here’s the question…

What do you suggest a newer player does to get the gear/gold without waiting months for events to farm or dropping hundreds on plat?

Find ways to have fun with things you can get.
It's not difficult to reach 86, most people can do it in a few days, then you can run most events.
Events are always covered up with people, finding randoms shouldn't be difficult and you'll probably come across a few op players while doing it that will make things easier on some runs.

Don't focus on earning gold just by farming a map for hours. There are more ways to get gold, find them, learn them and use all your cards
