since he was logging in as "guest", I don't suppose there's anyway to get his toon or it's inventory back?

Aren't these forums provided by Spacetime for user support?

I would contact support, as STS does not discuss account information on the forums.

I'm sure his toon still exists, so he should email sts and give his toon's name. Did he still use a password to login? He would need some way to prove that the toon was his.

Not technically. They can be but then again you'll get some community opinions too like me as opposed to devs so it would be easier to email support at support@spacetimestudios.com

He signed in as guest. There didn't seem to be a need to create an account since he only used his ipod and nobody else used it either.

Since signing in as guest is offered by the program, I doubt we're the only ones affected. I might be a good idea to have a public post on how to recover from this.

Filed a request and after a few days, support made a new account and added the toon to it :)
