Quest help on Missing Merchant please?

I can't seem to find Groll in the Forest and I've done it like three times now. The notes say the quest is fixed, but I still can't find the NPC.

I was told to look for a dead body but I don't see any except one guy kneeling next to another on the floor, but he won't talk to me about this quest.

Anybody?

Bump - can't find him either

He spawns randomly, i think. I've tried for the first few times and couldn't find him as well, but then he just suddenly appeared when i was farming the map. He's at the first junction/square/big area/whatever.. you come to, before Stabb. :)

EDIT: Next to a destroyable cart. And yes, he is very much dead.
