Pets: Play and Trick

I did a forum search for some stuff on the pets, but couldn't find any info on the "play" and "trick" commands in the pets menu. I noticed that hitting play recharges the happiness meter a little bit. How often can you do this? I'm assuming there's a timer on it before you can do it again, but I haven't had a chance to figure it out. I can't tell what trick does. When I hit it, the pet does his cute little "where's the ball" animation, but other than that I don't see anything happening. Can someone enlighten a poor newb? Thanks!

Same question here. I'm assuming trick is just for fun. Then, like you said, I'd guess that play is on some kind of timer.

Play seems to be on a five minute or so timer. Dont really care though, i dont feed my pets, i wait until one gets hungry (which seems to happen a lot) then switch it out.

Play regenerates a little bit of happiness for your active pet, and trick is just for fun :)
