Ghouls, ghosts, and gourds, oh my! It's Halloween Time in Arlor, and any Halloween enjoyer knows the holiday isn't complete without a good Haunted House. So--it's time for the first ever Arlor Halloween Home Show! Adventurers everywhere will transform their humble homes into spooktacular themed attractions for the holiday.


How it Works


Using furnishings, environment, and friends, create a themed Halloween "Haunted House" attraction in your in-game house. For this challenge, remember all of the things that make a Haunted House great:

+ A cohesive theme
+ Interactive elements
+ Actors

You don't need to limit yourself to Halloween themes, as long as you follow the....


Rules


+ Create a Halloween-ready home design using any section of your in-game home (or the whole thing!) It doesn't have to be scary, necessarily, but cohesive and entertaining.
+ Invite your friends! Gather one character of each class (including yourself) dressed in a thematic outfit. (Updated 10/21/2024 for clarity: No more, no less. 3 players only, 1 of each class)
+ This event is limited to player homes. No guild halls please.
+ Include at least ONE interactive/animated element OR an original feature built from other items
+ You may submit a screenshot, gif, or short video using the template below.
+ One entry per forum account and must include:
+ Your own house. You may appear in other players' entries, but your entry must be in your own.

+ The full game UI (no cropping)

+ All player names visible, including your own.

+ The phrase "Haunted Home 2024" in the chat log

+ Please keep all entries family friendly / PG-13
+ All entries must follow the forum ToS and Community Guidelines
+ Entries deemed to be in violation of the rules, or otherwise unconducive to a positive community experience will be disqualified.

Timing

Submissions are welcome anytime between now and Halloween night!

Specifically, the very last day for submissions will be October 31st, 2024!

The Spacetime Team will begin reviewing submissions on November 1st.
Prizes will be awarded some time after this - and depending on how many there are to review, it could take a lil while ;-)

Tonight, in spirit mansion, the Queens Favorite rogue, dressed in all white, was caught trying to sneak away. Death Lord, and Death's Hand, both arrived to assist the witch in her spirit summoning, when they stumbled across the maiden clad in white.

Once the maiden had been slain, her soul was summoned into the spirit mansion, as another victim for the witches collection.

This disturbance, caused an abnormality in the witches summoning ritual, as Death's Hand was the only one able to assist in the summoning ritual. What is that abomination that is being summoned? Will they be able to get the spirit to calm down? It's hard to say...

The intro scene of Scary Movie 1 is a direct parody of the famous opening sequence from Scream. It starts with a character named Drew Decker (played by Carmen Electra) alone in a large, isolated house at night. She’s getting ready for a quiet evening when the phone rings. The person on the other end of the line is a creepy voice who starts asking her questions, referencing the classic Scream line: "What's your favorite scary movie?"

Darn needed a side hustle to save for new gear, so she turned her house into a cemetery showroom! Rau and Tao came by to check out the vast selection of grave markers and a tasteful assortment accoutrements like potted plants and fountains.
As the three approached the coffin aisle, Darn warned her friends to mind the slippery floor; she called out to her assistant "Deth! Clean-up on Aisle 2!"
The first coffin was too small; the second coffin was too plain for Tao's taste. As the three came closer to the third coffin, Rau commented that the coffin lid carving was very high quality and that he wanted to see the inside. He slowly reached over to open the lid...
