Need advice

I recently came back to the game after not playing for years. I am a level 81 mage right now. My goal is to reach 86 with zero deaths and then farm pve kills while keeping zero deaths. I have a lot of gold from old items I sold, but I have basically no idea what to buy with it. Some people told me to buy kraken stuff, some said buy zaarus set, and I’m really just lost because there are so many new items/sets, it’s all really confusing.

My current gear is a clean kraken cannon, l76 skratch staff, malignant speed set, a clean l71 arcane artifact, and a pink 3pc sea serpent set. I’d love it if someone could tell me what I should be buying to accomplish my goals, and also to explain gear switches/stuff like that. Also, if anyone is selling the gear you think I need, my ign is “hermionemager” if you want to discuss prices.

Also, I want to know what the best way for me to reach level 86 is, considering I want 0 deaths.

Kraken staff, gun and armor should be a good start. You already got speed set and gun so look for staff and armor.

Since you aim at zero deaths you may also consider hardcore mode. But that requires significant plat spending.

The game is so different now. If you just farm kills and want zero deaths you are missing out on like 75% of the current gameplay. There are some wonderful new zones to play but death is bound to happen.
