View Full Version : Elemental Damage - Are we clear?

I've seen many players who still don't understand how these mechanics work and I wanted to make this space clearer and also inviting the devs to put some clearer explanation in the game.

The bio set gives you a nature damage bonus(Now you do nature damage) , This doesn't mean that you're now more effective at attacking nature element enemies because it's their same element, let's make an example with another element:

You have a flaming sword (obviously this sword burns) and in front of you appears Heatblass and he wanna fight with you (Yes that alien from Ben10) Do you think you're going to burn him with your flaming sword? - >Never

In Elder Woods we have some maps that if we look at 1 and 2 are nature element, 3 and 4 shadow element, Hedo is a boss that comes from the stars (Cosmic)
Therefore, if an enemy is of nature element, it will not be effective to attack him with that element (bio set), it would be better to attack with another element (Shadow or Cosmic), There are also electric, fire, and ice damage but in items that do not provide a large amount of stats (legendary items).

If what you're saying is correct, I'd like to know why elemental items provide resistance to the exact element we're not supposed to engage with when using the set.
Some of the recent design choices made by the Devs are questionable at best, but I doubt they would be so incompetent as to create a set (especially plat purchased one) that contradicts itself in such a stupid manner.
I haven't done a thorough testing, but with my non-representative sample of 1 mob in both maps 1 and 3, I haven't observed any difference in damage. So unless you have solid proofs, I'd argue that your assumptions are not correct.

This is not true. All the 3 elemental sets deals the same dmg in every map. The only difference is the resistance they offers. And so, bio set will be slightly better for the first 2 maps since u get nature resistance. I tested all 3 sets (same awakes and no jewels) in hedo and all deals the same dmg to hedo. If I'm wrong will be helpful if any dev can clarify this.

The problem with the types of damage is that, because one thing is what you attack with and another is what you have resistance to receive, the same with the mobs, I think it's one of the things that gives the devs a headache because although the Nature damage shouldn't work for you in Elder 1 and 2 the same set just protects you against those mobs, Maybe that's why for the arcane versions they put all the properties in 1 gear.

Of course it's fun, but they must establish some basic laws and we feel how much we can do with it

So, we dont need elemental set to do hedo since it doesnt give any additional damage?

and how much damage/dps equals to 10 elemental damage? Is anyone tested it yet?

I mean that the 3 elemental sets (cosmic, bio and shadow) deals same dmg. But when u compare elemental set vs star beast set, elemental deals way more dmg to bosses.

Is element set worth buying now?
