Abnormally high ping???

I recently have had lots and lots of lagg in PL my ping goes crazy and sometimes even goes up to 3000+ ping. This results in many deaths that shouldn't happen. Has anyone else been experiencing this too? Or is it just my wifi or iPhone? What can I do to fix this annoying lagg?
Ps. I have an iPhone 3gs 32 gb jailbroken and unlocked

its possible that its due to the jailbreaking ive heard itll slow down ur iphoen. just what ive heard so tell me if im wrong.
