View Full Version : Use for "useless" skills?

I think the skills that are generally considered sub par might shine in the Elite maps. Curse line, dodge from Time and even the -hit from Fire seem, on paper, to shine for elites. People consider that heal, and the above ones cut down on your dps, but they would buff the other three players dps significantly. My dps may be lower, and I am support, but the group will be more survivable. I only did one elite so far, and it was painful. I thought this all up afterwards.

Should I save the 5 plat and not respec? Am I on drugs? Please give me your thoughts on this matter.

Fire, Time, Curse, Heal (with mana back and mana right off the bat) for Elites imo.

It's sure worth a try. Elite makes every opponent like a miniboss and skills with a lasting effect will shine because the opponent is not dead that second.

Personally I haven't yet done that many elites but being an AoE mage I will get slaughtered in seconds if I do what I usually do on normal mode.

Lightning shines on bosses, fire isn't that great on bosses

Are you referring to elite mode or in general?

I am talking bosses only. Fireball is great for mobs, but not on bosses compared to lightning.

I understand that, but was talking about the debuff only.

Yeah I used the debuff (25% one for 5 seconds) too. Didn't notice any difference. The knockdown one is amazing for mobs and helping the tank take less damage though.

This might be a complete newbie question, but I'm gunna throw it out there anyways.

How does one join an elite dungeon? I see the option to switch between elite/regular on the map section, in the options, but everything seems locked but the first and last area, both of which are just towns. When I walk into the first dungeon, I'm just reverted to the regular, non-elite map. :grief:

Ha nope. I'm kinda new-ish. I asked this question in another thread, and got my answer. My fault.
