The Lunar New Year is upon us again, and there's only one way to celebrate in Arlor! New vanities, pets, and...stopping an evil goblin from ruining everyone's fun! This event runs for 1 week from 1/30 - 2/6 with a 3-day cooldown.


Backstory

The good people of Vardan Valley were all set to join the Lunar New Year festivities in Brackenridge when along came Kil'Joy the Goblin. Kil'Joy the Goblin, an enemy of joy, a confirmed master of disguise, appeared to the villagers in the visage of a feeble old merchant driving an immense empty wagon. He moved his big rickety wagon to the center of town, interrupting the Mayor's 'Lunar New Year' address to the townsfolk (mostly about avoiding injury on the long walk to Brackenridge).

Kil'Joy's illusory 'dying old man' begged the villagers to load their firecrackers, pets, and red envelopes onto his wagon. He too was heading for Brackenridge to celebrate the new year. But he was alone. Lonely and unwanted. Without family. Without a purpose - this joyful celebration would surely be his last.

"Let me take part in your joy. Fill my wagon so that I may help you on your journey. Please? Let my life have a purpose... one last time," he groveled with tears in his ancient eyes.

"Fine," said the Mayor. "That's just fine. You know it is a very long road and a whole lot to carry."

The smitty nodded sternly and bellowed, "Aye! Surely this good and wise old man isn't going to steal from us."

"Yes!" the tavern maid sang in agreement. "It's been nearly a full year since we've had even the slightest whiff of trouble. Let's do it!"

And so they did! The villagers of Vardan Valley loaded their wares upon the old man's wagon. Every egg, every envelope, every painted mask, every shining Arcanite vanity and shoved it aboard the old man's wagon. "See ya at the Tavern," the old man cackled as he drove off. "Happy New Year... suckers!"

It didn't take too long for the people of Vardan Valley to realize they had been scammed. So they sent their Sheriff to track down Kil'Joy (and get help from Arlorian heroes if necessary).


Getting Started

Talk to Sheriff Qian in Windmoore to learn more about the event. You'll be hunting Kil'Joy the Goblin to collect Red Envelopes that you can trade for this year's special items. Qian also has a daily quest that allows you to collect 10 Red Envelopes toward rewards.

Once you're out in the world, slay monsters within 5 levels of your character for a chance to spawn Kil'joy. Slay Kil'joy and collect his goodies before he disappears!
NEW - The farmer's elixir is no longer needed to spawn Kil'joy.

If i may add, i see snake is boosted with lots of % nature damage, would it cause issue if you make it universal? like passive buffs +5% Nature/Shadow/cosmic, so owners of all 3 sets can enjoy snake. Other option would be to "recolor" snake 2 more times and bring other elemental dmg variants.

Flying snakes are a classic. Your feedback on the passive will be noted for future pets and is understandable, it did make sense for Willowfang's buffs to have a focus this time.

Can yall add some type of visual effect to the Fang of the Grove Banner. Lately banners excluding lb have been somewhat lackluster and overshadowed by all the halos, aurus, and wisps. Even a small visual added to the snake eyes would be a great touch. As for The Fang of the Grove Cloth Banner, it looks nice.


Also, May yall address the black background on certain badges. I understand keeping the ones in game as is but moving forward I would like to see less of the black background.

Hahaha that pet is already better then the T5 winter pet awards S.A.D....unfortunately with the van/aura split up on locked event crates is just to much and new plat system not gonna be much help. Lol we get same event like first time when they added it, back in 2013?
It s kinda boring to run same map as 13 years ago.
Why we don t get a new map, new mobs, new difficulty for the event, new drop, new Kill Joy character with differrent stats attacks etc.Like is kinda boring run same map to get useless tokens. Vendor tokens part is missing, that vanity ugly and there is nothing else to do in event.
I would suggest for easter, which in 1-2 months to change the rabbit who run after me when i run it and change the eggs that i smash with somerhing new. You can make that ugly rabbit to deal damage to players and that eggs( one of them to be like a trap when you hit him to became a ugly egg that need be defeated for rare loot) recolor them, change zise etc.
It s not that hard, adding vanity after vanity and gears after gears won t keep community engaged.

Also the level upping this weapon also boring just because, as i said only these high players will need to level up it.

Too much damage in the game screws the whole gameplay related to strategy and this is where i agree with you. The idea is fine cause upgraded version is untradable from what it looks on set browser. Yet still the amount of damage in the game is ridiculous.

As an extra note: Upgraded version of chainsword adds around 15k damage to sb hammer when i checked it through craft station yesterday and you can already smell they are going to be OP regardless
