Hi,

Would you please make Echo from the Star Beast Amulet stand by my leg like a dog and attack only when I attack? It is ruining stacked curse attempts in the Cursed Woods because it taunts mobs I don't want to be taunted. I have to use a different amulet and weaken myself just to prevent Echo from attacking them, or I have to rely on luck for Echo not to engage.

Since its damage is low anyway, I wouldn't mind if it simply stayed by me and attacked only when I do.

Thanks

Sorry, echoes are really hard to control. We're lucky we were able to get them to do what they do now.

do you consider them a necessary addition to the game? is there even a need for those?

Curse which increasing mobs speed also makes theirs follow range longer. That means instead of following you for few meters and then turn back they do it for half of map size. I think star/bio amulet summons are considered for such "mobs", but, as they are "Friendly", this curse affecting their offense range instead of a following range somehow.

+1. I been using cosmic set and the little mushrooms runs half away across the map to pull 6 enemies. Very annoying, also stop event bosses from spawning in cursed maps, i don't need those mini bosses between mobs

Would be great if the radius would be lowered drastically. It makes no sense that the echo runs around 5 corners and attacks mobs that are not even in screen sight. Or when the echo only attacks mobs that have Aggro on an ally.

I personally like the amulets that spawn support creatures - both for their benefits and for their downsides.

As the OP mentioned you do have alternatives but they aren't going to complete your Star Beast sets.

I think a reasonable solution would be to craft a bound (stash-friendly) version of the Star Beast amulet that doesn't spawn the echo.
It would complete the SB sets and could even give you a tiny increase to damage since you are losing the damage output from the Echo.

Thoughts?

So this means: Go to the auction house, buy another amulet and then craft it?
To give my opinion. That’s boring. No content.

I would prefer if you would make it like the vili, himi, uller quest back in level 36. To start the quest, we need to have the amulet equipped and find an npc. This npc sends us on a journey of a few quests to complete. A little grind and in the end we get rewarded with a bound amulet.

As a player i prefer to remember i have obtained an item through a quest instead of telling other players. Ah yes u need buy a new amulet or lose the awakes on the one u got rn and just head to the crafting station.

I would prefer a solution where:
- i wouldn't need to destroy my currently top-awakened amulet with Eye Gems.
- it does not require me to buy a new amulet and pay for Eye Gems, awakening and crafting fee.

Is it possible to simply disable Echo in Cursed Woods? You could make it cost tokens... for example, adding a "No-Echo" item to the token vendor for 1,000 tokens. If we buy it, as long as it remains in our crafting inventory, Echo won't spawn in maps. Similar to how the Zaarus Frenzy Link item increases the damage of the Shredder Fish from the Kraken Amulet, when it is in crafting inventory. The "No-Echo" item would work the opposite way, not buffing damage, rather disabling Echo.

Easiest would be to have him just self-destruct like he does in Hedourah portal.

Edit: actually it does look like there is a safe way to prevent him from spawning in Cursed and Hedo's lair that won't interfere with the caster buff.

I'll look into that when I have some time :-)

Have him self destruct is a very good solution, i didn't think of that. Smart guy. +1

LOL - either way, we'll make it so that he doesn't interfere with your Curse runs ;-)

Love the idea of a supplemental item that does an on/off switch for this. However, I've had a bit of time to look into it and I can safely prevent the echo from spawning if you are in the Cursed Mythic Elder Woods (without interfering with any of the other amulet buff mechanics). I think this is the right thing to do in the short term. We can circle back to the idea of an on/off supplemental item in the future! :-)
