Tons of sarcasm intended in that title. It figures that after almost a full year since i lost my cat, my great dane would go next. Turns out she had cancer in her spine and a tumor burst last night causing her to lose control of her hind legs. Parents took her to the vet last night and had her put down, doctor said she wouldn't have lived through the night.

RIP Elly , you were a big dumb moose but you were my big dumb moose.

Sorry to hear Lowly. 3 years prior to now I had to put my dog of 18yrs. down. I know the feeling, but we have another dog now, and she is the best. :) I'd recommend waiting for a bit, then getting a new pet (preferably a dog, they rock!) Yet I strongly suggest getting another in the future. It lessens the pain and heightens the joy.

Yea mom had already made plans to adopt a pair of Great Danes from one of the local animal shelters in Elly's name after she passed, Great Danes are so commonly just abandoned in Las Vegas because people "Didn't know they would get so big." That probably won't be for a while though. We didn't expect her to pass this soon, took us completely by surprise.

Thanks everyone for the condolences, the fam is an emotional wreck right now, my dad is taking it especially hard :(

Aww man that sucks... Lost all 3 of my pets to old age, cancer and desise.. Then we got 2 new cats and my sister developed a allergy.....
