Bug: Add Name does not work when that name is offline

I had a friend email his char name today. I had no idea he had found PL.

So I fired up the client and went to add him as a friend knowing he was not online because he was at work. However, it won't add it. It doesn't give me an error, it just doesn't work.

Is this designed this way or is it a bug? I would think it would be nice to add names even if the person is not online.

It does work actually. When they log in you'll be in their pending friends list. He won't show in your friends list until the request is accepted. Better feedback for friend add/accept stuff when not in the same place or not online are on our todo list.
