Royce mentioned Escher in the chatbox and I had this crazy idea of asking for an Escher-style map! It's nutty, of course, and would require rotation on the z-axis. I have no idea how you would ever do it.

When I ran a tabletop game in this, we used our imaginations, of course, so it was easier. What I did was restrict movement to only one of three planes, but allowed actions to affect any plane. Doors would not lead out, they went to one of the other planes. It was a puzzle and they had to figure out how to get out of it, which was done, of course, by fulfilling the goal.
But here it could be a respawning dungeon...
