Hi all, I am curious about others experiences of the free platinum offers. More specifically, the genuinely free ones that don't require you to invest money into some bid website or casino site.

For example, the Toluna one and other survey type offers. The reason I ask is I've heard that once they are completed they don't necessarily pay out and I want to know if anyone has experienced this. I am considering trying some out but don't want to spend a load of time doing them for nothing to come out of it.

Thanks in advance!

I've already acquired hundreds of free plat just by having a credit card. All you have to do is to sign-up and make sure that you ALWAYS read the fine print. Most the offers I have done required memberships that had recurring fees if you did not cancel.

Also, I would suggest not to lie about your information. Some of these offers require you to call them to cancel your membership and if you end up forgetting your bogus identity, you might end up getting into a bigger problem.

I personally hate survey offers. They take too long and more often that not, you would end up not getting plat at all.

Okay so I did the Toluna thing and I think it worked, even though I managed to get rejected early on part way through all of the 4 - 5 surveys that I attempted (each meant to be 15-20 mins long approx). I also did some christmas quiz thing that only required signing up to and got platinum for that.

So far so good. Going to attempt a couple more so I can maybe afford the champions bundle before it goes...

The survey offers are a waste of time and don't work for me. All other offers that I've tried work great.

Seems like half my wi3 offers don't work. I do what they say then it sits in my history for days. Days latter they say expired. The ones that do work happen right away. I've learned from experience that anything with the word "story" in it won't do anything, besides from trolling me.
I never "qualify" for surveys, cuz I'm a freak of nature I guess.

For the truly free ones its a 50/50 shot for me. I only do them on occasion now because I find it really frustrating when I get several in a row that don't pay out. I've only done one through TrialPlay (lucked out, was getting stuff for Xmas gifts from The Body Shop anyways) and it didn't go through - had to e,ail them and go through 3-4 exchanges before they asked me to forward them my order confirmation, and once they got it the plat went through. Was frustrating since really money had been spent, but they took care of it swiftly enough.

Granted, I knew to watch it carefully and contact them directly if it didn't go through since I read the forums but if I had the I would have been in trouble.

There's something very... "unclean" about this. I'm not paranoid about information farming or identity theft but damn dude...Surely you can't consider this a responsible idea?

The BigFishGames offer for 280 plat requires that you sign up a new account and buy one of their PC games for $2.99 using a coupon code when you check out. I tried it out, and the game I downloaded ended up not working, but I did get 280 plat for $3, so wasn't a total loss.

Amazing how willing everyone is to part with personal information and expose themselves to future unwanted solicitations and privacy exploitation . You think when your plat doesn't show they're gonna refund the information you already provided?

Cmon people. Pay a few bucks and get plat from the source. If you can't afford $5, $10, or $20 you don't need it.

I have a pre-loaded gift credit card that I use. I have a fake alias that I also use with it, along with a number from a texting app on my iphone.

Oh how clever..

Your device is going to betray information whether you like it or not. why? Because it's not illegal to keep you uninformed about it.

Perhaps. I wonder if that's why the Lifelock offer from W3i is there?

lol lifelock... and anti virus software doesn't act viral.

I could SUCK at cleaning carpets but as long as I make more money selling the information you provide over what I lose in failing as a cleaning service, I'm still "successful".

Well, you've got me there.

Generally, I don't do any offers that require a credit card, with very few exceptions. The fact that these companies are paying STS for our traffic means they're collecting something. It's the same thing as the "giveaways" at the mall where all you need is to provide your name, email, address and phone number, and you could win a shiny new car. The people who are collecting that information are making enough money from the contestants' information to easily cover the cost of several of that car.

Because the Alfalfa hair style tinfoil hats deflect radio waves better.
