tell notifications controlled by "guild invites" option

I noticed that when I uncheck the option to show notifications of guild invites, I also stop getting notifications from tell messages. That is, when someone "tells" me something in yellow text, the box in the upper right hand corner doesn't appear; I only see the text in middle of screen and chat box. It doesn't make sense to have this notification be related to guild invites.

Also there needs to be a button turning off when it tells you a friend is on. That's annoying!
