Riddle Contest


The Contest
-I want you to come up with the coolest, most creative, or hardest riddle ever.
-Must be original, or at least one that i haven't heard before.
-Must be appropriate. Meaning that if it offends anyone or anything in anyway, you will be disqualified.
-Try not to put down other peoples entries. Be uplifting and be a good sport.
-Preferably object riddles
-Please let me or Noperly22 answer them



Ways you can get disqualified

-More than 3 entries


There will be 3 winners. (1st, 2nd, 3rd)

A box without hinges, key, or lid,
Yet golden treasure inside is hid,

Alive without breath,
As cold as death;
Never thirsty, ever drinking,
All in mail never clinking.

This thing all things devours:
Birds, beasts, trees, flowers;
Gnaws iron, bites steel;
Grinds hard stones to meal;
Slays king, ruins town,
And beats high mountain down.

P.S. You said we can do no more than three, meaning we can do three, right? Just answer and i will take one down if im mistaken

Here we go:
1) Three men were walking out one day. Then it started raining hard. They raced 4 blocks to there house. When they got in, one man didnt get his hair wet. They did not have an umbrella, or a hat. How can this be?

2) A man lives on the 10th floor of an apartment building. Every time he leaves the building, he pushes the button number 1 and goes to the bottom floor and leaves. Whenever the man comes back however, he pushes button number 7 and then gets out and walks the rest of the way up, the man does this every time. Why is this?

3) A cat went into a 50 story building, the cat jumps off, and lands on the sidewalk. The cat is not harmed at all or dead, and everything is fine. How is this possible?

let me add a simple one. although i dnt knw if i am violating the rules.. but i want u to answer it..


there are 5 person in a family.. they have to cross a bridge... bridge is strong enough to carry weight of 2 person at a time. every member of family have his own speed of crossing the bridge.
A DOES IT IN 1 SEC
B DOES IT IN 3 SEC
C DOES IT IN 6 SEC
D DOES IT IN 8 SEC
E TAKES 12 SECONDS TO CROSS THE BRIDGE.

every person moves on the bridge on the rate of slower one...

there is a lamp as its dark and one of the 2 person must have lamp with it while crossing the bridge..
and the lamp will be lit for 30 seconds only.

this is good... if dnt knw how to solve.. then say i didnt understand...

i ll make it simpler there are 5 person to cross a bridge. each of them takes different time to cross the bridge as 1 sec, 3sec, 6 sec, 8 sec and 12 sec. maximum 2 person can walk on bridge at a time.. they have a lamp which will stay lit for 30 sec only and one person must have the lamp with them while crossing the bridge.

example if 1and 8 goes together then one side it will take 8 sec to cross the bridge.. and meanwhile while returning back it will take 1 sec to cross it.

i guess this much elaboration is enf..
