I've noticed that officers on AL can't promote only remove ppl. With that in mind, I have the following suggestion:

Create a Guild Second (or named whatever). This position would have all the powers of guild master EXCEPT for the ability to disband guild or demote the guild master.

This would come in handy when your guild's GM is not too active or goes on vacation. I have played on several games with this function and it has always been handy to have. It is essentially a co-gm.
