The winter fest update came with two new classes; Rhino and Vixen. The first thing I did in the update was to level both classes to level 5 to test out a possible twink. The Vixen weren’t good at all, and first the Rhino wasn’t either too good… until I found the secret!
The most important stat in level 5 PVP is M/s. The fights are long (but not too long) since the lack of many abilities, and therefore, the one who could survive a long battle wins. As many of you already know, I made a guide for level 5 enchantress twinks. The common denominator for these two classes are heal. If you are able to heal over your enemies DPS and for a certain time (Due to M/s) you will be the winner.
To get high M/s at level 5, you can’t go for a STR or DEX Rhino. You will need to be able to equip INT gear for M/s, and from this I found a new, build, in the same state as level 5 enchantresses – The Level 5 INT Rhino!
In this guide, I am going to show you how to make your own level 5 Rhino twink, and how I did it. I have done some research and experiments to find the best build out there, and you will be able to find it all in this guide!
What does it costs to make a level 5 Rhino Twink?
It is cheap to make a level 5 rhino twink. If you want to go for the cheapest solution and just buy the gear in one of my presets, the price is about 30k Gold (Helmet + Armor) and 10-20 Platinum (10 Platinum Face + 5 Platinum Staff/Axe).

This is the gear I use on my level 5 Rhino. There is much more gear out there almost as good as the gear I use, but I may post that gear in a future. Now, I will just focus on the very best gear.
1.1 Helmet
64277
Lynsorian Combat Cowl
Base Req: Level 5, 17 Base Int
Cloth armor for your head!
3 Int, 2% Crit, 1 H/s, 1 M/s, 4 Armor
Randomly drops from mobs in Forest Haven. Can also be bought at CS.
Comment: I find this helmet to be the best for a Rhino. It gives both H/s and, of course M/s at the same time as 4 Armor. There is some Purple helmets out there for INT, but these are more focused to be better for the enchantresses, and not Rhinos, therefore this green one is better.
1.2 Armor
64279
Alchemist's Heavy Cloth Armor
Base Req: Level 5, 22 Base Int
Finely crafted cloth armor!
7 Int, 6% Hit, 3% Crit, 6 M/s, 4 Armor
Crafted from a rare recipe dropped from bosses in Forest Haven. Can also be bought at CS.
64279
Sorcerer Heavy Cloth Armor
Base Req: Level 5, 22 Base Int
Finely crafted cloth armor!
7 Int, 3% Dodge, 3% Hit, 4 H/s, 5 M/s, 4 Armor
Crafted from a rare recipe dropped from bosses in Forest Haven. Can also be bought at CS.
Comment: This is the main part of why INT are better that other builds. This armors gives high M/s (5 or 6) which is a lot for a level 5 character. The Alchemist's Heavy Cloth Armor are focused on offensive-, while Sorcerer Heavy Cloth Armor are focused on defensive benefits. Choose which one that fits your game style best!
1.3 Weapon
64280
Necromancer's Darkbolt Staff
Base Req: Level 5, 18 Base Int
A enchanted weapon!
34-70 Damage, 1.2 Speed, 3 Int, 1% Hit, 1 H/s, 1 M/s
Bought from the Platinum Store for 5 Platinum.
64280
Wizard's Darkbolt Staff
Base Req: Level 4, 15 Base Int
A enchanted weapon!
32-69 Damage, 1.2 Speed, 2 Int, 1% Hit, 1 M/s, 1 Armor
Bought from the Platinum Store for 5 Platinum.
64284
Avenger’s Flaming Moon Axe
Base Req: Level 1, 7 Base Str
+ chance of extra FIRE damage!
41-51 Damage, 0.9 Speed, 1 Str, 1% Crit
Bought from the Platinum Store for 5 Platinum.
64285
War Hammer (Trash)
Base Req: Level 1, 7 Base Str
STOP! ...Hammer time...
41-61 Damage, 1.0 Speed, 1% Crit
The Paladin's starting weapon.
Comment: For my primary weapon, I use the Necromancer’s Darkbolt Staff. This staff gives high DPS and, most important of all, a fight range of 10m. As you can see, I have also mentioned the level 1 Avenger’s Flaming Moon Axe, and this is due to Rhinos got 7 Base STR. This weapon gives higher DPS that the staff and also gives the opportunity to wear a shield, but since this is a melee weapon it’s a bit harder to get close to the target. This is where Charge comes as handy. Same goes for War Hammer, the Rhino's starting weapon, and this weapon also got a stun proc, which could help you keep your enemies in range. I suggest you to use range weapon against other range classes since they probably want to keep you in a distance, and melee weapons against other melee classes. All of these weapons got different procs on hit, and I presents them in the part "2. Weapon Procs".
1.4 Shield
64281
Broken Wooden Shield of Power (Common)
Base Req: Level 1, 4 Base Str
A light-weight wooden shield.
3 Str, 1 Armor
Random drop from mobs in Forest Haven. Can also be bought at CS.
64281
Broken Wooden Shield of the Virtuos (Common)
Base Req: Level 1, 4 Base Str
A light-weight wooden shield.
1 Str, 2 Int, 1 Armor
Random drop from mobs in Forest Haven. Can also be bought at CS.
64281
Elderwood Shield (Trash)
Base Req: Level 2, 7 Base Str, 8 Base Int
A finely-crafted shield!
1 Armor (Actually gives 2)
Bought from Ozz the Merchant in Forest Haven Towne for 160 Gold.
Comment: I am not sure if this is all of the shields available for a character with 7 Base STR, but they all have some different stats. Broken Wooden Shield of Power gives 3 Str which gives you 1% dodge. The Broken Wooden Shield of the Virtuos gives 2 Int which gives you 1% Hit (with the build I suggest you to use) and the Elderwood Shield gives 2 armor (1 more than the other shields) so here it's up to you what stats you prefer in your game style.
1.5 Ring
-
There is no ring for level 5 characters at the moment.
22964
The fun thing about choosing weapon for level 5 rhinos are that all of the weapons I recommend got different proc chances on hit. The proc chances may not be 100% correct since I tested this out myself, but are in a close range.
2.1 Necromancer's Darkbolt Staff
Weakness
-10 Armor
-10 Damage
Low proc chance (about 10%), stackable
2.2 Wizard's Darkbolt Staff
Weakness
-10 Armor
-10 Damage
Low proc chance (about 10%), stackable
2.3 Avenger's Flaming Moon Axe
Weakness
-1 Armor
-2 Damage
High proc chance (about 80%), stackable (x2)
Extra damage
+32 Fire damage
Low proc chance (about 10%)
2.4 War Hammer
Stun
3 sec. Stun
Medium proc chance (about 20%)
22965
These presets are based on two categories; Staff and 1-handed Axe + Shield. These two categories includes two presets each; one for defensive- and one for offensive benefits. This part is supposed to give you some guidelines to the stats, due to the different gear.
3.1 Necromancer's
Helmet:
Lynsorian Combat Crowl
Armor:
Alchemist’s Heavy Cloth Armor
Weapon:
Necromancer's Darkbolt Staff
Shield:
-
Ring:
-
This is the first of my staff preset, and I use it in fights where a higher damage is a more valuable factor. Due to the staff this gives a nice range of 10m and the ability to kite your opponent.
3.2 Wizard's
Helmet:
Lynsorian Combat Crowl
Armor:
Alchemist’s Heavy Cloth Armor
Weapon:
Wizard's Darkbolt Staff
Shield:
-
Ring:
-
I use this preset in fights where its necessary to sacrifice damage to higher armor, i.g. against higher levels. Due to the staff this gives a nice range of 10m and the ability to kite your opponent.
3.3 Avenger's Axe
Helmet:
Lynsorian Combat Crowl
Armor:
Alchemist’s Heavy Cloth Armor
Weapon:
Avenger’s Flaming Moon Axe
Shield:
Broken Wooden Shield of the Virtuos (Common)
Ring:
-
This preset uses Avenger's Flamin Moon Axe, due to fire damage proc, and shield to give slightly higher DPS and armor than using any of the staff presets. The disadvantage with this set up is that you don’t have the range to kite your enemies. Sometimes it can be hard to reach the enemies if they try to kite you.
3.4 War Hammer
Helmet:
Lynsorian Combat Crowl
Armor:
Alchemist’s Heavy Cloth Armor
Weapon:
War Hammer (Trash)
Shield:
Broken Wooden Shield of the Virtuos (Common)
Ring:
-
This preset uses War Hammer, due to stun proc, and shield to give slightly higher DPS and armor than using any of the staff presets. The disadvantage with this set up is that you don’t have the range to kite your enemies. Sometimes it can be hard to reach the enemies if they try to kite you.
22966
There is only one Vanity Item that is better to have. That is the Founder’s Helm. If you don’t got that helmet, I suggest you to use any one of your own choice. Note that some Vanity Helmets are giving 1 Armor as a bonus stat!
4.1 Vanity Helmet
64286
Founder’s Helm
Base Req: Level 1
For being part of PL since the start!
5 Damage, 5 Armor
This is the only Vanity item for low level players (< level 60) that gives stats more than 1 Armor. The only way to get this Vanity Helmet is if you started to play Pocket Legends in the first month it was released. If you did, then it would appear in your stash.
64291
These next Vanity's are just used due to the look. These is the ones I use. Do you want to copycat me? Use these below. Otherwise, choose what ever you think looks best!
4.2 Vanity Armor
64287
Veteran’s Centurion Battleplate
Base Req: Level 1
Only for proven champions (or centurions).
A gift from STG for playing the game for three months.
4.3 Vanity Shield
64288
Valentine's Day Bouquet
Base Req: Level 1
Show off your Love!
Bought from the Platinum Store during Valentines Day event for 30 Platinum.
4.4 Vanity Pet
64289
Bats
Baes Req: Level 1
You can't leave home without your little friends!
Bought from the Platinum Store for 250 Platinum.
Comment: If you're not having Founder's Helm, be sure to use a vanity that gives 1 Armor since every single stat is worth much at such a low level. Otherwise, choose what ever Vanity's you want to use! They are implemented to give you a option to customize your look, so be sure to take advantage of that. A certain look may scare your opponents!
22967
There are some different faces you can choose between to boost your stats a bit more. Three of them costs 5 Platinum and doesn’t give stats at all, they’re just for the look, and there is some of them for 10 Platinum which gives stats. These are the following faces:
5.1 5 Platinum (No stats)
Name
Stats
Rhinoceros
-
Ghost Rhino
-
Gray Rhino
-
5.2 10 Platinum (Gives stats)
Name
Stats
Psycho Rhino
3 STR, 1% Crit
White Rhino
3 STR, 2 INT
Dino Rhino
3 STR, 1 Armor
Dark and Stormy
3 STR, 6 Health
War Paint
3 STR, 2% Hit
Cool Rhino
3 STR, 5 Mana
Painted Pale
2 STR, 3 INT
Raging Rhino
3 STR, 1 Damage
Painted White Rhino
3 STR, 1% Dodge
Dark Rhino
3 INT, 3 Health
Comment: You can choose which face you want, but I suggest you to use War Paint due to the 2% Hit. Since the Hit % are low at level 5 (69 %), that 2 percent are always good.
22968
6.1 Rhino starting stats
Base STR: 7
Base DEX: 1
Base INT: 2
At level 5, you have 20 points to spend. To be able to use the pink armor, you need to have at least 22 base STR/DEX/INT. This makes it impossible to use the pink DEX armors (Expert & Artisan's) however you do.
6.2 Build
Full Intelligence
Base STR: 7
Base DEX: 1
Base INT: 22
This is the ONLY build for an INT Rhino (consider you are going to use some of the pink INT armors). The intelligence does reduce skill damage a bit (but not much), but increases the healing done by Restore. I suggest you to use this build, just because of the M/s given by the pink INT armors.
22969
All skills presented are the skills you can have at level 5. The skill's damage/debuffs/buffs/range are collected with 7 Base STR, 1 Base DEX and 2 Base INT (starting stats) and no gear equipped. Obvious, those stats gets higher dependence of your INT, so with gear equipped, you will see higher skill stats.
7.1 Skills
22272
Charge (Available at level 2)
Rank 1
20 mana, 3s. cooldown, 12m area
22-36 damage, +knock-back
Rank 2
20 mana, 3s. cooldown, 12m area
26-46 damage, +knock-back
Rank 3
20 mana, 3s. cooldown, 12m area
30-56 damage, +knock-back
This skill charges the target within a 8m area. It can also be used as a rush when no target is near. This could be good to get close to an enemy, or even away from them.
22273
Rhino Might (Available at level 3)
Rank 1
20 mana, 6s. cooldown, 3m area
19-27 damage, 20% chance to debuff target
-4 health/s. + stun for 3s.
Rank 2
20 mana, 6s. cooldown, 3m area
23-31 damage, 30% chance to debuff target
-5 health/s. + stun for 3s.
Rank 3
20 mana, 6s. cooldown, 3m area
27-35 damage, 40% chance to debuff target
-6 health/s. + stun for 3s.
Rhino Might are supposed to be used as a stun and stuns all people in a radius of 3m for 3s, which is a good stun. The disadvantage of the stun is that it only got a 20% chance to proc at rank 1.
22274
Restore (Available at level 4)
Rank 1
30 mana, 5s. cooldown, 8m area
Heals party +30-46
3s. self-buff, +20 health regen
Rank 2
30 mana, 5s. cooldown, 8m area
Heals party +45-60
3s. self-buff, +24 health regen
Rank 3
30 mana, 5s. cooldown, 8m area
Heals party +60-76
3s. self-buff, +28 health regen
This is the skill I reliance on to survive in PVP. It is a AOE (Area of Effect) skill which mean it heals all party members within an 8m area for a small amount and gives yourself a 3 second buff with 20/24/28 H/s which is pretty much for a level 5.
7.2 Builds
Build #1
Charge (Rank 1)
Restore (Rank 3)
I do currently use this build. Since I use staff a lot, I don’t want to get too close to the target and therefore, I don’t need the stun. I do use Charge to get away much faster.
Build #2
Rhino Might (Rank 1)
Restore (Rank 3)
This build is similar to Build #1, but instead of Charge, uses Rhino Might to get a 3s. stun to get away from the enemies and get some range to them. The reason I don't use this build is because of the stun only got a 20% chance to proc and that's not a reliable percentage in critical situations.
Build #3
Charge (Rank 1)
Rhino Might (Rank 1)
Restore (Rank 2)
This is a balanced build which doesn’t forces you to sacrifice one of the two offensive skills. The disadvantage of this build is that your Restore doesn’t heal for as much as could be needed.

This preset uses War Hammer, due to stun proc, and shield to give slightly higher DPS and armor than using any of the staff presets. The disadvantage with this set up is that you don’t have the range to kite your enemies. Sometimes it can be hard to reach the enemies if they try to kite you.

There are some different faces you can choose between to boost your stats a bit more. Three of them costs 5 Platinum and doesn’t give stats at all, they’re just for the look, and there is some of them for 10 Platinum which gives stats. These are the following faces:
5.1 5 Platinum (No stats)
Name
Stats
Rhinoceros
-
Ghost Rhino
-
Gray Rhino
-
5.2 10 Platinum (Gives stats)
Name
Stats
Psycho Rhino
3 STR, 1% Crit
White Rhino
3 STR, 2 INT
Dino Rhino
3 STR, 1 Armor
Dark and Stormy
3 STR, 6 Health
War Paint
3 STR, 2% Hit
Cool Rhino
3 STR, 5 Mana
Painted Pale
2 STR, 3 INT
Raging Rhino
3 STR, 1 Damage
Painted White Rhino
3 STR, 1% Dodge
Dark Rhino
3 INT, 3 Health
Comment: You can choose which face you want, but I suggest you to use War Paint due to the 2% Hit. Since the Hit % are low at level 5 (69 %), that 2 percent are always good.

6.1 Rhino starting stats
Base STR: 7
Base DEX: 1
Base INT: 2
At level 5, you have 20 points to spend. To be able to use the pink armor, you need to have at least 22 base STR/DEX/INT. This makes it impossible to use the pink DEX armors (Expert & Artisan's) however you do.
6.2 Build
Full Intelligence
Base STR: 7
Base DEX: 1
Base INT: 22
This is the ONLY build for an INT Rhino (consider you are going to use some of the pink INT armors). The intelligence does reduce skill damage a bit (but not much), but increases the healing done by Restore. I suggest you to use this build, just because of the M/s given by the pink INT armors.
22969
All skills presented are the skills you can have at level 5. The skill's damage/debuffs/buffs/range are collected with 7 Base STR, 1 Base DEX and 2 Base INT (starting stats) and no gear equipped. Obvious, those stats gets higher dependence of your INT, so with gear equipped, you will see higher skill stats.
7.1 Skills
22272
Charge (Available at level 2)
Rank 1
20 mana, 3s. cooldown, 12m area
22-36 damage, +knock-back
Rank 2
20 mana, 3s. cooldown, 12m area
26-46 damage, +knock-back
Rank 3
20 mana, 3s. cooldown, 12m area
30-56 damage, +knock-back
This skill charges the target within a 8m area. It can also be used as a rush when no target is near. This could be good to get close to an enemy, or even away from them.
22273
Rhino Might (Available at level 3)
Rank 1
20 mana, 6s. cooldown, 3m area
19-27 damage, 20% chance to debuff target
-4 health/s. + stun for 3s.
Rank 2
20 mana, 6s. cooldown, 3m area
23-31 damage, 30% chance to debuff target
-5 health/s. + stun for 3s.
Rank 3
20 mana, 6s. cooldown, 3m area
27-35 damage, 40% chance to debuff target
-6 health/s. + stun for 3s.
Rhino Might are supposed to be used as a stun and stuns all people in a radius of 3m for 3s, which is a good stun. The disadvantage of the stun is that it only got a 20% chance to proc at rank 1.
22274
Restore (Available at level 4)
Rank 1
30 mana, 5s. cooldown, 8m area
Heals party +30-46
3s. self-buff, +20 health regen
Rank 2
30 mana, 5s. cooldown, 8m area
Heals party +45-60
3s. self-buff, +24 health regen
Rank 3
30 mana, 5s. cooldown, 8m area
Heals party +60-76
3s. self-buff, +28 health regen
This is the skill I reliance on to survive in PVP. It is a AOE (Area of Effect) skill which mean it heals all party members within an 8m area for a small amount and gives yourself a 3 second buff with 20/24/28 H/s which is pretty much for a level 5.
7.2 Builds
Build #1
Charge (Rank 1)
Restore (Rank 3)
I do currently use this build. Since I use staff a lot, I don’t want to get too close to the target and therefore, I don’t need the stun. I do use Charge to get away much faster.
Build #2
Rhino Might (Rank 1)
Restore (Rank 3)
This build is similar to Build #1, but instead of Charge, uses Rhino Might to get a 3s. stun to get away from the enemies and get some range to them. The reason I don't use this build is because of the stun only got a 20% chance to proc and that's not a reliable percentage in critical situations.
Build #3
Charge (Rank 1)
Rhino Might (Rank 1)
Restore (Rank 2)
This is a balanced build which doesn’t forces you to sacrifice one of the two offensive skills. The disadvantage of this build is that your Restore doesn’t heal for as much as could be needed.
