Just kidding. Lifethief is better, no question. Just use both for a few minutes on a boss and watch how consistently low the damage is on Heartseekers.

To answer the above question, Lifethief only heals when you charge your attack, and not that much to be significant. The beauty of Lifethief lies in its damage output, rather than its crappy proc.

Didn't they change this with the new update? Now that the screen shows both damage and dps, last I checked they were equal in both. Could be wrong, but I thought seekers were made useful again...

They might be numerically equal, but that's just on the stat screen. I meant actual damage numbers coming from the mob you're hitting. ALP, well any Lifethief actually, still has freakishly high peak damage that happens quite often. Heartseekers have very consistent damage, but it's noticeably lower.

Not long after the update, I got a set of Heartseekers out of a chest. I forget which variety, but the DPS was higher than the MLP I was using at the time, so hey why not try right? Ran a few Jarls with them and was unimpressed. Sent to the CS the same day.

People only raise this when it comes to weapons, but I'd also like people to think about the misdirection of the stat page when it comes to pets. xD

The life steal ability for the lifethief is pretty much useless. Heartseekers have bleed damage which (if true) may be why damage consistency is slightly lower.

I think it depends on your Rogue build.

I prefer the Heartseekers of Tactics for the added Crit (and it's cheap - I'm broke). I do like LifeThief, but the proc is worthless, so in the end you are looking at damage. LifeThief seems to have a higher upper range while the Heartseekers have a higher lower range on their damage stat (too bad those stats aren't visible to confirm what I am seeing). Both are terrific, both have insane DPS, both have great Damage. I would say it is a matter of consistent damage vs. high end damage and which one you think looks better on your Rogue.

Certainly Agile Lifethief of Potency over the Agile Heartstealers of Brutality.

Why?
Heartstealers deal somewhat fixed damage, lifethiefs damage varies a lot thus you're makin' more damage including the crits.
What comes to the crit rate I don't really agree. When u raise your crit possibility e.g. using the aimed shot I've had like the same amount of crits, altho lifethief deals higher ones.
