About 3 hours in photoshop. I lost track of time during rendering, so it's give or take.

I wanted to make it look traditional, and not photorealistic and generic, so I mainly used my favorite texture brush with a type of charcoal grain. I think I did good achieving the look I wanted, so I'm pretty happy with it :)

Wow! How much better can you possibly get though?

doing concept are and doing portraits are pretty different. portraits dont take any type of creativity, just experience. concept art takes bringing your imagination to life, while taking into account rules such as perspective, dynamic lighting, making sure your concepts read, meeting deadlines, etc. Theres a lot i need to learn and a lot of discipline i need to instill into myself since im self trained and not going to school.
