Let's suppose you have a pet whose arcane ability boosts your STR by 15, which in turn boosts your health by 150.

Now let's suppose you are in battle and while your health is boosted by 150 you get hit leaving you with only 50 health before you finally kill the bad guys. And now a second later the arcane boost expires. Do you die because you lose the extra 15 STR?

I guess I'm wondering how exactly that process works. Perhaps a developer can explain.

Usually (in games like this) the added health is "on top" of your current health. So for example, you have 10 health left. You activate the ability and gain 150 health (for a total of 160). You get hit for 155 damage. Now the 150 you gained is wiped out, along with 5 of your beginning hit points. Then the ability wears off, but the 150 you gained is already gone, so you're still sitting at 5 health.

Think of it as a health buffer, if that helps.

I'm pretty sure the only way you'll lose health is if you are over your natural max when the buff runs out.

Hmm seems legit... Considering the fact that it'll be easy to switch from one pet to another during PvP and loadouts will probably make it even easier (if it saves the pets too... I forget if it does/doesn't). X.x

Pets don't save.

Awesome catch Berry.

Just as I predicted, pets seem they would make it a lot more challenging for StS to try and balance.

Pets would also make things confusing since they are not under our control. For example, pets always keep attacking, there's no way to stop them unless you dismiss them. So what if you were taking a time out during PvP, then it would be a problem.
