Newest scam!

Hey everyone! Just wanted to let you know the newest scam that is going around. (Happened to me 3 times today)

Someone will say for example "Selling glowstick 150k buy fast!" (450K in cs)
I saw a good merchant opportunity so I opened trade with him. He said "Add any 3 items, can be trash anything works" I added some holiday greens and purps and hit accept. He said "hold up my inventory is full lemme add some items"

He then very very quickly switched his glowstick for 4 other AO 500g pinks (he made it look like the glowstick was there if you weren't paying close attention.) I hit accept (thinking the gliwstick was still there) and almost went through with it when I noticed and cancelled.

He said "darn almost worked" and logged off.

Yep he's been wandering around balefort most of the day touting his glowsticks. Didn't bother responding ...if an offer looks too good to be true...it usually is ;)

It's always runescape with you XD this one was around in diablo 2 as well I got hit by it more than 10 years ago

Now people do it with the Dragon full helm ornament kit (56k) and the fury ornament kit (15m) They actually look pretty similar.

I dont think many of you understand how bad this game could be as far as scamming is concerned if some of the real RS scammers come over. There are scams in runescape that are so clever, you cant really report for it. Im sure theyd find some for PL as well. This game seems to have a younger age group playing as well. I only say this because people are complaining that runescape scams are popping up in PL, just be glad its the noob scams and not the tricky ones.

This happened to me yesterday. I wasn't stupid enough to fall for it because I double check everything before accepting.I told the guy nice try, but he just acted like he didn't know what was going on. I reported him so hope devs take care of him. But since this guy was a low level, I think it's someone on a different account to keep their main account safe.

Thank you for bringing this up. This guy did the same thing to me about shadow helmet. He said 40k and as you said he and i both added items. LOL can't believe i got scammed, but I'm a guy who like to help people. I would have gave him 40K if he had asked but that was a stupid move. He also tempted to do the same with my bear later on.

My friend evilunleashed also got scammed by him. He was involved with the shadow wand for 150K. I just feel stupid but it's a good thing i'm rich.

I have reported him 5x already and his name is demition or something...

Just encountered the same dude trying the same lame trick.

I played along and made sure to screenshot it all and send it to support. I've heard of several other people in game where he tried to do the same thing.

And yeah, in the end he started cursing like a 12yo who just learned some dirty words LOL.

Hopefully support will take action soon.

That use to work before the introduction of secure tradeing. Meaning that in the old days as soon as you both it accept, the trade went through. Now you get to preview whole trade before fallowing through.

Nice, Jordan! Although, for future reference don't try to impersonate devs by saying you're an undercover dev.

They take that matter very highly and I've seen good players get perm banned for impersonating a dev.
