item removed from inventory

I started a new game and as soon as I left the tavern in the beginning I was told that a item was removed from my inventory it was a elite chest can someone help me and tell me what happened and why

It's been removed as what it says. Chest is no longer available in-game.

The pre-patch elite chests have been removed, you can easily get a new one by doing jarl runs :)
