The Kracken Isles Expansion is Coming! Level Cap Raise, New Content and Pirates!

Across the ocean south of Windmoore lies the Kraken Isles, a series of small islands rich in natural resources and grog. On the surface it looks like paradise but the land is rife with pirates and threatened by an ancient curse.

A new high seas adventure is in the making for Arcane Legends! Aaaar! Shiver me timbers! The Dev Team is hard at work on the next expansion, titled "The Kraken Isles." This will be similar to the Dead City expansion (http://www.spacetimestudios.com/content.php?476-Arcane-Legends-Expands-New-Dead-City-Adventure-Holiday-Content-and-More!), in that the level cap will go up 5 levels and there will be all new areas to explore, new loot, new quests and more.

Above, you can see a partial picture of the new map that will be implemented with the Kraken Isles expansion. Interested adventurers will be able to sail to the Kraken Isles from Windmoore. The map will have pop out functionality to choose which adventure area you want to go to. Heading to a town is pretty straightforward (and what most users use the Map to do). If you want to say, go to the Dead City, a pop up will let you choose which of the 5 different maps you want to go to.

Rome wasn't built in a day :) As a general rule of thumb, you'll always be able to play through content faster than we can create it.

If you are looking for a specific date when the Kraken Isles expansion will be out, we generally do not give out hard dates. They tend to slide and we know that. Right now we're shooting for Late February. It is still being built.

I'm personally satisfied with the constant development of the game. Considering this game is fairly young, I'm amazed with how it continues to push up to the top and satisfy the mass majority. Given the different imbalances we're still experiencing with regards to PvP, I have to say that the pressure sure is there for you guys and that I salute the team for. These progress makes me a truly satisfied client and would be safe and secured knowing that what I pay for goes to something guaranteed and not done half-assed.

expansion looks great, much respect to the hard working devs. but I feel that there has been a lot of energy directed towards plat mining (ripmaw, hammerjaw - I hope people get their plat refunded for the time it wasn't even dropping from those crates) and nothing directed towards what seems to be the games biggest issue: unbalanced PvP.

Sam, I know Dev team intended to make this game lv up easily and the main acts are farming equipment (and PvP maybe). But is that a good idea now when we just need 1-2 days to up any new 5 lv and continue scream for new update? I know some of good player in my guild they just wait for update, play for 2 days, max everything and complain that they don't have anything more to do, so they stop playing and continue waiting. Just my opinion, making every lv like the elite lv (16k exp) is a good way for Dev team to have more time to make new things, and for people to enjoy the game more by trying lv up their character.

Hi Kide2008,

Hammerjaw can be obtained from the Locked Grand Crate of the Watch. However, as others have mentioned, he is very rare. We went out of our way to convey that by placing him in a new, highest rarity category: Arcane. There are a few out there that have been found and the item is in game.

I'm sorry to hear you didn't find him in the Crates that you opened. Our hope is that the Crates also have some value by themselves for you. They guarantee that you obtain a Legendary and 2 Epics for your level. The Legendary Sword 'n Shield, Bow and Rifle are the best currently available in game for those items. The Armor sets have 2 unique looks as well. Hammerjaw is akin to rare trading card game cards, or rare Baseball cards. You might open 100 packs and never get one of those rares - and some lucky guy will get the ultra rare on their first pack. That is how random rolls.

I'm not sure that will help you feel better about your luck, but it is what it is.

The team does have plans to introduce additional Mythic and Arcane rarity items to the world (as random or boss drops) in the future. However, keep in mind that, like Hammerjaw, you should expect that those items will be exceedingly rare. You won't walk into town and see everyone with them - that would be common. True rarity means there are only very few to be found.

After reviewing where everything is on the expansion today, we are announcing that the Kraken Isles will launch in the latter part of next week (probably Thursday the 21st).

There is still a good bit of testing and polish to go, but that's the current target we are working toward.

Will chest splitter be as useless as it was with dead city? It would not interrupt any boss besides antee who was already the easiest boss and I think the first form of the undead captain. Will warriors be able to interrupt attacks again and feel useful to the party once again?

The price of respecs will not be set to zero.

The team makes respecs free when aspects of characters change. The only character change with the Kraken Isles expansion is the addition of 5 more levels.
