Selling Gear before update...Have you?

So, has anyone sold all there good gear before the update happens and the prices drop by 100s of thousands? :D

I sold my gear weeks ago when it was still decent priced. the prices are already droping on alot of stuff and the hundreds of Crates opened a few days ago just made it even worse lol

Top lv21 gear is better than any gear u can get shortly after next lv cap.
Better gear = fast time to next lv cap = get next top gear quickly = ...

Actually it's smart to buy back the same gears right after expansion coz u can almost 100% expect the market dive.

Started selling my stuff since I refuse to pvp as a mage.
Oh and I have a stash of 4 rifles or force if anyone is interested :banghead:

I sold a couple of weeks ago too. Made a clean 620k or so selling off top tier L21 Season 1 stuff from my two L21 toons.

And then the pvp patch came. I re-bought some level 20 stuff for my Sorc just to see what it was like. I failed miserably at L21 sorc pvp, so I sold that off.

Then I got bored, re-bought some level 20 stuff for my rogue to see what all the fuss was about on rogue pvp. Thoroughly enjoyed that lol.

Then I rolled a sorc alt to help my RL friend's guild. Naturally I had to gear him up and simply couldn't stand using crap like "Shadowwar of Brutality". I ended up deleting him at L17 and sold his stuff at a loss (big mistake).

Then I rolled a rogue alt for the same guild, with the goal of this rogue being my pvp alt since we don't get skill loadouts. Made it to 20, transferred my junk gear from the L21 main.

Then I got even more bored and made an L16 sorc twink. Mad that the gear I sold off a week ago skyrocketed in price due to twink market.

Long story short, yes I sold my gear. Yes I made good money off it. But I still failed. :( lol

Yeah, the difference stat wise between the highest and the next highest is negligible compared to the price difference. I sold anything worth more than 150k on both my toons the day the expansion was announced for ~850k and replaced it with the 'almost as good gear' for under 100k. Yesterday I bought back a couple of things for the warrior, ring and a Dark Watch sword of Potency, but at a fraction of what I had sold the same items for two weeks ago.

I only have a smattering of the top-tier items for my 21s. At first I was all set to farm like mad to equip everybody up, but I discovered, like Khylan mentioned, that the second tier gear is almost as good. For the current elite maps, good enough gear is more than adequate.

(Also, farming is a lot more boring here than in PL -- show me those pink drops! Give me different maps I have to run to find the items I want!)

Anyway, I'd actually be more inclined to start purchasing in the next couple of weeks to gear up for the harder maps to come (as csyui mentions). When will the low be? Night before release?
