interractive campaign project. (all welcome to pitch in ideas serious Artists wanted!

With halloween round the corner, i decided to come up with a series of concept drawing s of a new campaign project! This'll be a great way to knock out boredom while awaiting the next update or patches. Im going toward a horror theme, pumpkins frankenstein monsters, vampires, spiders, the works!

Post your ideas. Ill be constantly updating this first post with drawings. Being that i work and go to school, ill muster up whatever free time i have to contribute to the proj. . I looking for other artists as well (judging from the item creation contests there are plenty of you out there!)

lets keep this fun, troll and flame free. Remember this is for everyone, so dont be afraid to pitch in!!

Updates (NOTICE: these are concepts so theyll be rough, when this is all done there will be sharpened up versions in color):

Legs The tarantula (peep his booty, the image resembles a skull, but look at it upside down and it also resembles a spider!), Drac the vamp (huge upgrade compared to the first concept I drew), and Luna the Warewolf [added the bow for a femenine touch :) ].

How about a mansion, and it might be cool to add a bright moonlight with shadows due to the light. Owls might be nice to see, as well as maybe a witch shadow on a broom stick that you can see if you look close enough into the sky. A bat might be cool to see on a telephone pole and I don't know if you want any humor in it but it would be funny to see a guy standing there with a sheet over his head and he's fat so you see his belly lump through the sheet. I will come up with more ideas later, this is just off the top of my head.

I had an idea the other day to have design your own dungeon ability with a patch rollout one day. Seeing all the level 45 people with nothing to do, this would provide plenty of thrills. Don't know if it's even possible though I bet it is. You could insert the "monsters" and "bosses" from a drop down list provided by the devs, ability to insert walls and doors, secret passages where you want, etc. Charge 8 Plat. for the service per account, or something like that
There could be a design your own dungeon contest along with it. Winner's dungeon will be used in the game.

BTW, like the idea of Halloween type of monsters, a headless horseman boss that spawns pumpkin headed monsters till he's killed?

this is great!! As for the create a dungeon, idk how the idevices would handle it. If a pc client were made for the public im sure thatll work great. Kinda like the rpg creater prog.

Mystic the witch is done. Dirtball, im working on the headless horseman boss ;) followed by the haunted house boss. Post ideas for minor enemies too guys! The faster we knock out the enemies, the sooner we'll get to the dungeon and gear designs!

Zombies were done remember? Lol but they can be recycled tho, as well as the skeletons. Ghosts sound great, and a demon boss too. Undead pirates sound just about right ;)

if they can sell a viking hat for 20plat, then let me have a permanent pumpkin helm for a little more! Yes, i'd pay for a pumpkin on my head. I like all these ideas of looking like actual monsters, but think: Thats a lot more coding and graphixs. About using in-game zombies and bosses, well, it's a good option.

...but just let me keep a pumpkin helm... A example i want to use is adventure quest worlds. I think this game is cooler than that by far, but in easter you could do quests for acquiring a full-body berserker-bunny appearance.
Im not even asking for the devs to code in a way to change the entire armor, just a helm lol (though armors with black-orange stripes would be a good combo...)

Grim creeper.. I like! Im gonna redraw the vamp later tho, he doesnt look epic like the reaper persay.
Guys we have enough bosses i feel, so lets come up with designs for minor monsters, and weapons. Ill be creating a warewolf, frankenstines monster, and headless horseman bosses. If the ideas keep flowing i might divide it in three parts like the AO series.

weapon ideas:
reaper scythe (of course)
demon claws (derived from that other thread)
garlic blaster
silver bullet 1H pistol
stakes (used as tallons i suppose)
chainsaws (2H)
broom staffs (thanks mystic)

What if, for a superhard campaign, the vampires did not show up as red triangles on the map and they could just appear out of nowhere. They would have very high HP and quickly drain life if they latched on to you. Only your strongest skill at level 5 could get them off, otherwise your almost certainly a goner. That would encourage more teamwork as you wouldn't go in there without some good helpers. They would still be normal monsters but would add some thrill.

just read all of the suggestions and they were great. happy to see so many people taking part in this and how quickly this thread is expanding within a day. i added a revised version of the enchantress p. helm. more to come after i finish my english paper =/ shouldnt be too long, but keep the ideas coming! as for the drawings being posted, id prefer if they were done on paper and scanned/taken a picture of then posted. if you wish to use an idevice app, i highly reccomend ArtStudio. its 2.99 but worth it. i made this with it

I LOVE the idea of vampires not appearing in map. if they implement randomized monsters or something, this would OWN in a actually-difficult dungeon.

i got an idea. since all bosses are 1, make this one 5 bosses that you will need to fight together. Make all of them look like Rats! and each uses different attack styles. :D hope you get what i imagined.

they were aweome. to get perfect clarity draw them out. if you take a picture of them, dont use flash. and you should also blacken the lines with a marker afterwards. those are all the methods that i follow. pencil first, erase mistakes and clean the drawing up, use a sharpie or similiar over the lines, erase any leftover pencil marks, take a picture on your cell phone or digital camera with the flash off, upload to photobucket etc. and post the img code :).

also, if you make a drawing and feel it could be done better, ill be happy to redraw and clean the drawing up.

do you read comics? its one like in those comics where an animal transforms because of a certain chemical and mutates. These Rat bosses are standing on two legs holding their specific weapons. They can use combos like in the swamps but only focus more on 1on1 with the players. Ill try to draw it because im not that good at explaining stuff :)

well, im not the creater of this amazing idea, im just shoving in my imaginations. spiders wont look good in teams IMO, Rat bosses are unique and special because they are dwellers and Thieves of the night. I love the spider idea though but maybe not in this way, not too good interceptions. Spiders arent scary IMO, I think Coachroaches will scare the players hearts out!

But the way i imagined it, spiders will look very weird holding weapons and fighting, maybe you could take this idea and make the spider:
The Last Boss of the campaign. It would be huge and able to use Int and Str attacks. Sound good?

What about ghosts that appear during a boss fight who couldn't be attacked but explode on touch. then the tank/tanks would have to kite the boss around to avoid being nearly one shotted by them.

"Decapiated Staff of the Dorkwood Knight" or "Cranial Staff of Troll Blood" You could really play off those ya kno? The talons could differ in metal. And with the Machete, different size/shape depending. "Black Machete of Pumpkin Seed" lol Maybe the names are just cool.... I just really like the head-on-a-staff thing, and you could make wands that are bones from different monsters with different nastythings on em, ie "Zombie Bone of Poison" or "Enchantress Bone of Coagulation" lol IDK I'm trying to throw stuff out there. Black Cats could be mutated and huge and be monsters (or another head for a staff lol) or maybe "Black Cats Fur Cloak of Stardust" Word up.

EDIT: Oh and anything thats a Vapires or of dracula or vampiric, helps your health regen.... And a tombstone shield would be really rad, better and rarer depending on whos tombtone it is. Draculas would be uber, while Skele Krunch's would be a gray piece of crumbling granite lol

Or maybe throw in some garlic-tipped throwing knives and longswords to get past vampires. Gosh this is really fun guys!

i plan on tying the elements to the different boss item sets. for example, frankenstine monster (will draw him up soon) will drop the lightning sets, the vampire will drop darkbolt sets. thats all i have planned out, feel free to add on.

bad thought here... what happens after October? what will come to this Halloween inspired place? given a month, the dev team might be able to pull this off, although we have to take into consideration AO3 smoothing and bug fixing, but given that it's a anual event it would quickly be out of context.

I am thinking that we should consider this as a castle/cave dungeon for the devs to make and were these spiders, rats and vampires will be relevant, but have like one random special-color boss (orange skeller?) that is as hard as vyxnar/fridge and pop up randomly, and HE is the only one to drop the event-only gear.
To make a easier load on devs too, we (I) wouldn't mind this as a small mini dungeon expansion to skeller lool. a sort of maze-mashup thing like in the previous areas. if you make the monsters, you could re-use them in later expansions easily. (we DO need a cave-like place)

take it easy devs :D AO3 is almost out, it must have been some effort.

I love this idea, I think it should be a cave tho Luke usaid, for after Halloween. I have an idea for sone rare armor sets like the ones in the swamps. Str would be wolffang gear, int would be scarecrow gear and dex would be growlers gear. U would get a bonus for wearing these. The wolffang boss, scarecrow boss and growlers boss would drop these items. I'm in the process of drawing them. I'll post later

I don't know if it was said or not but how about a Blob Boss. He could have a high defense and dodge rate( you are hitting a blob of goo after all) so that a lot of you attacks will miss. He could drop items with a slowing affect such as Dripping Sword of Goo, Slimy Shield of Sludge, The Blob's Bubbling Bracer, and the one and only Snot Rocket Launcher. You could also go with more of a Garbage/Toxic theme.The back-story could be On a Stormy Night some barrels of Toxic Waste started to leak and mixed with some moldy genetically modified food. Any other time this would have been fine but this just happen to be the leftovers of a rather intelligent BLT sandwich made with a new batch of Smart Crops. Lightning struck an old discarded exercise bike and in that instant the Unholy concoction became self aware. The map could be called The Landfill comes Alive and could have enemies like Mutated Bananas, Toxic Tomato's, Zombie Zucchini, or any other trash related items. Old Dolls,toys, clothes, really anything we throw away which opens up a lot of possibilities for weapon and items such as, Last Months Meatloaf Mace/Mail, Toxic Sludge Sword/Waste Wand, Rancid Garbage Gun, Dented Colander Helm, Toilet Paper Tiara. He's a boxer, with lightning infused gloves. His body generates lightning (ala blanca from street fighter) that release at the end of his spikes.

Guys, time to post images, indefinite. I have hw and activities and buddies houses and stuff, so it might take a while

How about a spider web helm? O.o it would be on a dex character and would have the same look but where the red is in the lvl 45 ones it would have a spider web look. And the mage helms could be orange on one side and black on the other. And the warrior helms could have a black back and an orange face cover. Those could be the basic helms. But some of the other ones could have like a frankenstien head with the face off it so you could see the character.

I still like the armor idea the best wear it's a triantula and it's wrapped around the players with the legs wrapping from the front to the back so when you look at the front, you see a spider head and abdomen but on the back you see the spider legs wrapped around the victim! And on the head, the eyes could light up orange or red! That'd be sick!

How about a spider web helm? O.o it would be on a dex character and would have the same look but where the red is in the lvl 45 ones it would have a spider web look. And the mage helms could be orange on one side and black on the other. And the warrior helms could have a black back and an orange face cover. Those could be the basic helms. But some of the other ones could have like a frankenstien head with the face off it so you could see the character.
I'll start working on em asap, and will post along the rest of the pics

I still like the armor idea the best wear it's a triantula and it's wrapped around the players with the legs wrapping from the front to the back so when you look at the front, you see a spider head and abdomen but on the back you see the spider legs wrapped around the victim! And on the head, the eyes could light up orange or red!
That'd be sick!
