Finally collected my 1000 yeti pelts. I know I'm not the first, but I don't see any pics of this item yet, so I thought I'd post one :D

maybe.. i thought that the regular one had 1 armor or something... either way, it should be way better for 1000 pelts.

Then again.. the 1000 treasure chest thing in balefort is clearly the worst.

So yeah, Brain Freeze Ice Blast has 1 more armor than the Black-Ice. This is really a shame when you consider that, with the high droprate of FN, I picked up 2 Ice Blast staffs in the time it took me to collect the pelts for this Black-Ice. I'm gonna post something in suggestions and feedback later, but the Black-Ice need to be at least equal to their regular counterparts, and should IMO be a bit better. I haven't tested in combat yet, but I sincerely hope the Black-Ice at least has the AOE damage of the Ice Blast...

I agree, these black-ice quest items need to be better, that's why I stopped hunting for pelts.

Nice job Royce, I do think the black ice items should be better, but I do think the level 29 snipers penguin snow cap, should be slightly better than the level 27. I know I brought this up in the chat box with you before. ;)

It doesn't effect brain-freeze to my knowledge. Plus, he is referring to the brain freeze staff that isn't black ice, but the regular one, so even if brain freeze was effected by the update, it wouldn't matter which staff because either way the original would be the same, only deliver one more armor.

So it does do AOE damage, and is basically identical to the BF Ice Blast Staff minus 1 armor. No nightmare proc, but that would make it much more worthwhile. I'm happy to use it just because it looks cool (and I can sacrifice 1 armor lol), but definitely needs something, nightmare proc, a bit more regen, or even some crit maybe, something...

The pink sword you get at level 19 for 1024 tomes is also slightly inferior to the one that drops. It may be intentional that quest reward pinks are not quite as good as pinks that drop.

By the way, did other pinks drop as you quested for this one? I sure hope so. :)

Yeah, I got a ton of them. That's sort of my point though, and why I think the Black-Ice weapons should be better (even if just slightly). The droprate in FN is pretty high, and I actually found 2 of the regular BF Ice Blast Staffs (among other things) on my way to earning this inferior (statswise) one. Something harder to get should be better IMO.
