Kraken Isles New Pets - The Monkey and The Toucan

There are new pets coming in the Kraken Isles expansion: The Monkey and The Toucan!

There are four versions of each, some drop, some are quest rewards and some are purchased (Hauntlet coins or Platinum). Here is the breakdown, from Rare to Legendary:

I'm thinking they forgot to put the locked part, I don't think they see a need for multiple types of locked crates. But they could have multiple types of locked crates....... Not that I think they should.

The only "Crate" in game is the Locked Grand Crate of the Watch. It is such a darn long name that we keep referring to it differently. At the end of the day, a Crate is a Crate is a Crate. When new stuff (like the chance for the Arcane Rogue Weapons or the chance for the pet) is added, it is put into that same loot list for Locked Crates.

Not sure if it'll be worth it. I mean the crates are exactly like gamble packs for plat only they're also droppable. Im one of those players that likes to collect things but not when it'll burn a hole in my pocket trying to get certain pieces lol.

my question is why are these pets with similar stats all the what through...if the game progressively gets harder? or will the new update be reasonably the same?..the reason I ask this is because of the legendary monkey...that even mailson has better stats that help all areas...INT,STR, and DEX. But meh...ill just wait to see the new cap. :) lov the monkey tho.

Stats, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder. Case in point - MysticalEagle's post above.

on the note of beauty..why does McCraw have 4 happiness skills while the beautiful monkey only have 3 happiness skills...just wondering since they are both legendary..will the monkey have a 4th?

The last playtest we did today, it was looking pretty groovy. However, there are a lot of little polish things that the team is grinding on. It may still go tomorrow, it may slide a day or into next week if they want more time on it. This is why we don't really commit to hard dates. We know our fans want to plan their game time, but we also want to release when it's ready for prime time.

I understand that the structure of a F2P game is built around monetizing users via up-selling virtual goods, but I'd highly recommend removing the availability of purchasing gold through platinum. While it may be monetarily beneficial to your books in the short run, it'll ruin the overall economy and longevity of the game in the long run. The game will end up relying on the influx of new players as old players leave to sustain their margins, which is bad metrics overall.

If you look at stats, there is no long run in games. Releasing a new hit almost always guarantees more money than expansions after expansions for free to play games. So you can see all developers milking it while its hot. Problem with games that dont have plat to gold conversion, there will be massive gold sellers. At least this way, part of the incentive to buy gold illegally is removed. And i can bet the 3percent of players that supports the rest, do convert them to lots of gold.

Pinfeathers and Wyatt look pretty good for warriors. Pinfeathers looks especially good for flag runners -- nice speed and armor boost. I don't think there is any other pet that has that combination of bonus stats.

Plus, no way to know for sure until we see the arcane abilities of all these pets. If you saw the happiness bonus for ribbit you would not think so much, but then when you see the arcane bonus that makes him so good.

Close app, then clear all tasks/ram (on SGSIII it's hold down left button, task manager, RAM). Either that, or close app and turn phone on/off. Then the buy button will appear, it's a known problem they said they will fix with the next client update.

Clyde is pretty nice, I love seeing crits go off (10.80% crit chance now on sorc). The lvl 25 amulet you get from the last quest also gives crit (1.9%) so that's an extra boost (if you want higher crit). Clyde's power apparently works on bosses as well, chance to stop them for 1-2 seconds (told by a dev, haven't seen it yet since I'm leveling atm).

Clyde is awsome. I bought him and so far he is up to level 15. Stats are great as he gives a nice boost to both health points, INT and Crit, but his arcane ability is what is best. He just seems to freeze the mobs for a couple of seconds. I've yet to test him out on a boss since I spent all night in the tombs, but he worked very well there with the mobs.
