Hello, Pocket Legends Community,

Today, I'd like to announce after much scientific and thorough testing the true differences between the Elite Sea Blaster Set vs. the Phantom Pirate's Crossbone Set.

To the visual eye, the difference between the two sets is this: 2 damage and 3 dps. To clarify, The Elite Sea Blaster set has 2 damage and 3 dps more than the Phantom Pirate's Crossbone set.

Hidden Differences: Elite Sea Blaster:
- Elite Sea Blaster set has a bomb proc, which in PvP or CTF, drops randomly when firing at your target. It however, does not follow your target, instead it will fall onto the very spot where the proc was activated and the bomb was dropped. After sitting on the ground for a few seconds, it will explode and damage players near by. In PvP, this damage is usually mediocre and often does no more than 100 damage. However, in CTF, this bomb has the capability of nearly killing to one hit KO'ing any near by players excluding yourself.

- In PvE, The ESB damages anything around it, including yourself and your teammates. It is VERY capable of knocking out anything.

Hidden Differences: Phantom Pirate's Crossbone Set
- It has a stun proc which will root enemies into place from time to time, something that is incredibly useful in PvP

IN LIGHT OF THIS NEW DISCOVERY, AS A 70-71 BIRD, YOU SHOULD USE THE PHANTOM PIRATE'S CROSSBONE SET!

*read below*

Backed up by Everyone's Fav Mage, we did some scientific tests in PvP. It was L71 bird vs. bird, with him wearing the Phantom's CrossBone Set and me wearing the Elite Sea Blaster Set.

After taking down the data of 100 fights, equal skill level, a discovery was made...

Elite Sea Blaster is not as efficient as hitting through dodge as the Phantom Pirate's Crossbone Set.
The only explanation we could say was because of the stun proc, but the Elite Sea Blaster performed very poorly at breaking through 69 dodge, when tested against the Phantom Pirate's Crossbone Set who consistently teared through dodge.

This statement is backed up by 100+ tested kills.^^

True story. The esb also has a slight lag when u repulse it. I used the phantom set and Apollo used esb set and I was winning 10/3 10/4 then he used phantom and I used esb and I started losing 10/5 10/6 and so on. So we did some tests and it is in fact true. There's a hidden proc that seems to add to the effectiveness of the phantom set over the esb.

It's weird, I sold the phantom set because at 70 I couldn't kill 66 birds with 55 dodge to my 69. Thry managed to rip me apart.

The very last part is new, as there was a common misconception that Elite Sea Blaster was better in PvP. If we had known this sooner, the L71 bird tourney results could have been much different. I mean, it was won with a phantom pirate crossbone set too, lol.

Placebo effect is I'm sure a factor as well.

Couple things to check out on the ESB since it is board created. You mention that it is stronger in CtF vs PvP, and I wonder if that is because the ~level~ of the board you are playing on. Are you using a Forest Haven type for PvP and a CtF map that spawns off of a later campaign? I am curious if the base campaign of the map effects the damage of the ESB the same way it does in PVE. For example, in Forest Haven, the ESB does about 50 damage, but in Humania it does around 1800 damage. And I am sure you know, because it is created by the board, it is not a player kill but an environment kill.
Another question is have you had one shoot at the other while that person is watching their character screen to see if any of the stats change? BSM bows have a built in blind shot like the forgottens so the Phantom might have some kind of debuff.
Anyway, real cool stuff, love the in depth testing!

Yeah, that's why we tried auto attacking with each one as well, and had 100 or so fights, switching off each one.

It is most noticeable when attempting to land root or repulse with ESB set, as ESB struggles to land those spells through the high dodge. The Phantom Crossbone Set usually hits though.

I realize this is the way rumors start, but I wouldn't create this thread without being almost positive. :)

It might, but if I wasn't mistaken, ESB was nerfed in Forest Fight because the bomb was too powerful against other players. However, I'll definitely check and get back to you. :)

It was in fact nerfed. The only pvp map it still does high cs damage on is forest manor if I'm not mistaken.

All recurves (10m bows) from lv51+ have that -hit% debuff.
Apollo, It's not news that the phantom xbow (stun proc) was always better than the esb (proc that never hits).

I agree, but you're misreading. The difference that was discovered is the ESB is not as efficient hitting through dodge. We haven't figured out why - the stun proc being the reason why was just a theory.

To most though, it is news, as many 71 twink birds seem to choose ESB over Phantom because of the higher damage, which is why I made this thread - to save them a lot of money and improve their efficiency towards killing their enemies.

Well dang, I could have told you not to use the Elite Suicide Bomber without all that testing.

PvE players already use phantom, but again, for those who PvP, they have been choosing ESB set. This thread is for them.

I appreciate your input though. :)
