Ok, this sounds very noob. (Ugh!) But I can't stand not knowing! What is a Twink and what is a Toon?

Toon - your character, avatar or whatevr you call it (Rgue, sorc, war)
Twink- a type of low leveled toon that is usually controlled by an experienced (playtime longetivity) gamer custom fitted with the best equips scaling to his level.

To add to that, Twink is a pvp term. Its when you disable or cap your experience at a specific level. And then get the best gear available for that level.
