K . . . so this is an extension of my earlier post re: the launch of ARDefender on the itunes store - can check it out here - http://toucharcade.com/2010/09/29/ardefender-augmented-reality-defense-game-now-available/

And Here - http://itunes.apple.com/app/ardefender/id393879882?mt=8

Now Im thinking PL is perfect the way it is - alright - so it's almost perfect. And that asking for the whole AR augmentation might just be a bit much to pull off so effectively.

BUT HOW ABOUT AN AugmentedReality-EQUIP MODE.

Which is to say that should we choose to say for instance, we can load out our respective characters in an augmented reality mode. Just like the tower from the game linked to above. But instead of running and or shooting or anything complex it allows us to Equip only!!!

In fact I Insists. Augmented Reality Equip Feature with update please.

It's perfect. You guys (STS) write the code. We buy plat. Make purchase for Augmented Reality equip option. . You sends us an email with the AR dot matrix on it. One per character. Meaning. One Character. One specific matrix. Can be print out multiple times. If we want to AR equip any of our other toons. . . then we drops the plats accordingly.

Im already there.
ps = ao3 rocks.

Just a side note on the qualcomm video: I love how the nexus one has to be rigged to a camera when Apple just has a cable that shows the video output. Much nicer the way Apple does it.

Okay, I am new to AR. So, you want an AR mode which makes it look really great graphics wise when equipping items so we can see our chars in hi-res? And then the printing is for outputting this high res to a printer? Why not a large jpeg of it? maybe I don't understand what you mean.

Yup yup. . .the printing was part of the requirement for the AR to take effect. See. You get an image generated by STS - bunch of squares and or circles (kind of like a barcode) - so one set represents Archers say for instance. Right before going forward with that - the image is then focused on by the camera in App - and it interprets it as an Augmented Reality Construct - methinks.

SO the business model - if STS were to adopt it - would be for us to buy plat and in-game authorize purchase of say one AR character sheet. STS then sends the buyer an email with said image coded into a printable .jpeg which we prints and place on a table in front of us - or cld stick it up on a wall - launch app - goto AR equip mode - and voila.

Will add linkage to some other posts i did on the same subject so u get a better idea.

Also u gotta check out the other video on the same link as provided above - those guys - qualcom - took apart this iOS game that involves a forest haven type town and made it all AR for free. Mad awesomeness. The process involved laying out a largish map representing the town in general and the AR elements within - like the potion selling lady or wyclf (tht warrior dude in baleford) - ghaaa. . . u gotta see it. . . posting links in a bit -

Oh - this wld only work for iPhone users I guess - and newer ipod touch variants. No. cause of the camera pre-req.

Okay okay - so im sorry I did not resize - But this is so cool. As described above - these guys - qualcom - took apart this other game which has town/village sort of map to it - and made an AR version of the same.

First image shows gameboard as laid out more or less. Object to be recognized by the camera and populated on screen via ur AR code.

Next we can see the dude in the game world. Note tht the map is still ordinary print. On screen however is where stuff comes to life.

So - that be the AR.

PL can do it two way's - the AR defender route - Character is created and equipped. See link to ARDefender posted above. jpeg to email and we print on the cheap - And the other would be this sort of printable game map. More complicated and involved. But Business is Business.
