The only advantage for the bird is that it has a little more range than Mage. But, even so it's very hard to kite him. You'd probably be dead. You're welcome to test though (PM me for ign). I'd also like to try it out.

We all were level one, none were noobs - all twinks. And I used no barrels to blow myself up. I think it's pretty damn great.

FYI, birds/foxes are the worst for team pvp

At 60, I was pvping with Nunja and a friend of mine, all 3 with demonic xbow sets.

It was FFA, and all we did was buff, then blast. (Other team were mages)

6 blast on 3 demonic xbow birds...? That's gg.

Yes, you can win against a bear by kiting him. But if a bear gets to you and hits you - you're pretty much dead. It's harder to kite a Mage though, because you've got just a little more range with the x-bow. If a Mage and a bird are just standing there and shooting eachother the Mage wins.

But that only applies to a map without any power-orbs. The power-orbs and barrels change the gameplay significantly.
And that only applies for 1 vs 1. Teams change everything too. For example two birds have no chance against two bears.

A lot also depends on the map layout.

It's not intentionally. Sometimes is hard to kite due to lag. But even with a good connection you'd still have problems. Not everything is as easy as it seems. The hammer has a long range and the bear can hide behind the trees where you can't shoot him. The bird is forced to come closer this way and then you can attack him. A lot also depends on the map layout.

As I said 1vs1 and without any power-orbs the fox/bird could kite the bear till he dies, but it's still not that easy.

Either way team vs team is way more interesting than 1vs1 at level 1.
