The wind murmurs in your ear
And shivers you till the bone.
There you lie, covered in fear
While no light shone.
You run and make for the end of the cave.
You run through the forests.
Oh pitiful human heart! So naive!
Never ever passing emotions' tests!
So sprightly, so full of energy were you, like a hummingbird's wingbeat.
But now you run away from reality.
There you lie wrapped in fear's pale white sheet
Trying to salvage bits of your sanity.
The does and the antlers come up to you,
Nudging you while sleep.
Soon it looks like a mourner's queue
But then with a start, up you leap.
You scream my name as you wake up from the brutish nightmare,
And the wilderness scampers away.
Such beauty, such innocence, such flair,
Now being diminished in these times so grey.
You rewind back to the time when you heard a knock on the door,
And on opening, saw two men, uniforms donned.
Soon you collapse to the floor
And sense begins to break its bond.
Your memories then transport you to the cremation grounds.
And it was then that I saw you.
Your sadness knew no bounds
And your tears shimmered like the morning dew.
An owl's hoot brings back to the present
And makes you face the gnawing hole inside your heart.
Is this what life really meant?
To literally tear you apart.
You slowly make your towards the lake shimmering in moonlight
And take a glance at the world one last time.
And then you jump, crying, from a height
And Death feels it committed a crime.
Slowly your body makes its way to the bottom.
And with your soul just about to leave its cage,
Like a leaf falling in autumn,
That you feel assuaged.
You see me swimming towards you and a smile envelops your face.
And then when say those three special words,
You calmly close your eyes
And drift with me into our solitary oblivion..
