yeah i been getting these messages as well i purchased yesterday succesfully after having probs when i update software from itunes and put in my password it allowed me to do it ONLY then.

there is clearly software problems here and needs to be corrected pretty quickly as its getting beyond a joke

For anyone getting the 'Trial accounts may not make purchases' message, you can avoid the problem by making the purchase immediately after logging in (after being offline for a couple minutes), before joining or hosting any games.

The problem will be fixed in Monday's update.

I got this, and like the thread said, I restarted my device and it worked for me and my friend just fine.
