Sound Distortion on loud sounds like "level complete"

Every time I have played via Chrome, when any audio in the game is louder than standard weapon fire , it starts to distort and crackle, the louder the sound, the worse it sounds. I cannot find any way to adjust the sound level in-game. This game is the only thing on my computer that does it. I have checked my volume controls and tried 2 different audio devices (bluetooth USB dongle+headset, and on-board audio) with no more or less distortion. Whats worse is I cant find another thread describing this issue, and I would think I couldn't be the onlyone, I don't have any kind of special set-up beyond any other casual gamer.

I've mentioned this for the N7 and didn't get anything from a dev...maybe they'll answer on yours. But yes, same problem with me.
