I'm farming elite ss and everytime i get a chest a i usually sell it (silver 14k a piece) so I'm thinking is this the right way to do it? Or just open the chests? Usually I'm disappointed when I open chests so I don't really bother opening but am I missing out with this attitude?

Since everyone does not know what's inside those chests, only luck dictates the outcome, nothing else. Well sometimes, there's this nagging feeling of "I wonder what's inside that chest?" If I may suggest, when your farming harder maps other than elite seas (which is getting more common imo), and you happen to get silver and gold, open them, who knows? (nagging felling again).

I'm with you, I just sell them. I don't want luck to determine what I end up with. I sell all my chests/crates, and then save up the gold and buy the items I want.

I'm about to take up your attitude! I've opened maybe 10x gold chests and I only got one legendary that sold for 84k. If I sold all 10 of them, I would have had 700k! Opening 100 gold chests may not yield you a mythic, but 7million can sure as heck buy one!

But then again, what if 100 Gold Chests yield 2 Mythics, 1 Arcane and tons of other Elite pinks?
It's a gamble really. AL is starting to go down the pay-to win gambling road (ex: Locked Chests). Emphasis on 'down'.

Just like real life..... We got casinos in most areas, and lottery. But that does not mean everyone has to be a gambler. Have some self control!
what i do is sell silver but open golden pirate chest, since we just can get mytic and arcane from golden. i cant buy mytic nor arcane item with just gold i get from selling chest. no pain no gain. by the way, what ever you do just dont regret it.

If you farm a lot, eventually you'll end up with the money. Whether by selling or opening, selling would make you gradually get there, and opening will eventually drop you a nice pink or mythic(arcane if you wear your clothes backwards spin around 3 times and stand on your head as you open).

I actually do the opposite. Open copper and silver because they are pretty low in gold value. Take my chances with those and sell the gold chests.
