Random elixirs

Does anyone know why I get random elixirs? Someone told me its Because I bought platinum recently but I would like to know if its true.

It was a thank you to the customers of STS for buying at least $10 worth of plat recently. We don't know how recent "recently" means, but thanks for the thanks anyways STS :D
